Open office is the fruit of the labor of the open source initiative which makes stuff for free. Microsoft office is the product of the Microsoft corporation and it is not free because it keeps Bill Gates rich. Cheers!!!

Openoffice is free. It runs a little slower but has many of the same components as MS Office. One other difference is OpenOffice has more user created adons for it.

As far as I know they are the same. Expect open office is a free program and and I believe you have to pay for microsoft office. I know you can get a free trial of it for like 60 days but after that you must pay. I have not downloaded open office yet but I plan on doing so soon. Happy mylotting to you.
