hi there everybody, I am new to Mylot and for the whole week I have been noticing that discussions on serious topics have not got as many responses as responses given to simple and day to day topics..What do you think the reason for this may be????have people lost interest in discussing serious topics or is it leading to boredom anyways??? Do you agree with me??? Do post in your comments and say what changes can be made. have a great day!!! :);)

I think it's because they're easier to answer, and you're less likely to get in an argument over every-day things, whereas when you talk politics, sometimes, you get a little over-your-head and others rate you poorly as a result. So, yeah, I agree with you! I think it's just because people don't want to get into arguments over politics/religion, and they don't want their ratings to drop. :/

hi maezee thanks for the response.. I guess some of us then have to switch over to lighter topics..he he!! I think discussions can also be a healthier debate..May be we can arrive at some kind of conclusion and discussions can be made informative too.. good day!!!!

I have noticed the same thing. It seems everyone wants to pop in with one line answers and see if they can get credit. Don't they know the more you write and discuss the better mylot will be? It has seemed VERY slow for all responses the past 2 days. Posts that I would expect to get at least 5-6 responses are barely getting 2. There isn't as much response from the original poster either. They don't seem to be commenting back. When I look for topics I look for discussions not "What color is your underwear today?" kind of topics.

If by 'serious' you mean religion or politics then I am guilty of not responding. However I do respond on anything else in many other interests. Maybe what is a 'serious' discussion to one user is not so for another? The ages are so varied that maybe the younger users have topics which are serious for them but would not be for older users. To each his own!

i actually get bored with the same topic type, eg virginity loss, plus others. i like something different, worth writing back to. i was happy with my response to one topic i started about trail seperation, since then my partner has hit below the belt about my boss and work mate, and annoyed them. you got to be able to have a laugh at things as well. i don't have anything different so don't tend to start topics.

I'm not sure. Most people aren't really here on mylot for the "serious" things to discuss. They like to relax and respond to topics that they found interesting. Or a certain topic that they have always been interested in. I actually don't really contribute to the "serious serious" discussions. Since I'm just here to enjoy myself, not try to get serious about a marketing problem, well really, about anything.

It depends on how much friends you make & how much they respond to.Not all friends respond to youe discussions but expect from us.Those who have more than 100 friends who are regular respond to most of the discussions wheteher they are serious or otherwise.Dont lose hope even your serious ones will be answered.HAPPY MYLOTTING.
