hello everybody here at Mylot. just several days ago, i created myself a facebook account because one of my friend's mainly had asked me to do that. so i did, and this morning while i was going through my e-mails, an old friend of mine that i used to go to high school with sent me a message requesting my friendship on facebook's website. i couldn't believe it. we haven't seen each other in years now, and i wrote her back and asked her where that she was living now. i do not know yet is she still lives around here in Tennessee or not. i cannot wait to hear back from her. so tell me, have you ever found a long lost real life friend before on another website? thanks for sharing and have a beautiful day today!

I am a Anisnaabe,Nippissing,Mi'Maq, Iroquois & Abinakis..on both sides..lol I'm a Chief of the Wanigouch Nation member of the Confederation of the Aboriginal Peoples of Canada/Qu├ębec/Americas As we have no boundries..you could become a member of my nation and have your card which ID's you as a native and you can get benefits out of reserve. Yes I'm thinking alot of her and I sure miss her all of a sudden, she may be in trouble and for some reason is thinking of me. It is always like that, whenever am thinking of someone, they are thinking of me and call me, write or text me. I wish I remembered her name I could look her up on the internet.

How exciting. Keep us posted when you have time if you two get the chance to get together. I bet that was fun for you. I know one way to find old friends is through Facebook. All three of our daughter's have been contacted by high school and college friends. They love it. I don't have a Facebook account. Just not interested at this point. I spend way too much time on the computer as it is doing other things. Don't know how many my age are actually on Facebook. Have fun, carolbee

hello antiquelady that is the only reason that i joined facebook's website because one of my friend's had wanted me to so that we could write back and forth with each other then the next thing that i knew, a long lost friend contacted me. since that i have posted this discussion we have contacted each other through emails. it is wonderful to have gotten back in touch like that with her. maybe sometime soon we can see each other again. thanks for the response.

i am happy for you tnwoman that this has happened to you. you must have been so excited to receive that message. i can feel the excitement in this discussion of yours. for me, this has never happened because, i do not have an active account of that type. perhaps, if what has happened to you will also happen to me if i activate one, then i will be just as excited, too. good luck, tnwoman. may you have good times at the net with your friend, sharing all good memories and the present undertakings of your families, too.

I'm happy for you, TnWoman. The internet really can make the world seem smaller. I wasn't too keen on joining social network sites before, coz I thought it makes your life too public. But I joined Facebook last year only because I had one of those "OMG" moments. My daughter found her biological dad on Facebook through a friend who searched his name. He's never seen her all his life (She's now 19!!) and lo and behold, suddenly he's there! Her dad and I never got married as it was a very short affair, and we drifted apart after she was born. We've both since moved on and found our lifetime partners. I'm happy that my daughter and her dad found each other. They are now communicating through emails (and Facebook chats) and making plans to see each other. But all things considered, after we all got over the shock, I think it's wonderful to find old friends (and lovers, hahaha)through FB. I've reconnected with relatives in other countries, schoolmates whom I haven't seen for 30 years and friends through FB. My daughter got the best Christmas gift last year -that of finding her biological dad. Now she has 2 dads, my husband (her stepdad) whom she's known all her life and her birthdad. She feels blessed to have them both in her life.

I have let fear of new things stop me from going to facebook. I have read horror stories about it. I thank you, TnWoman, however, for bringing this subject up. I have read all the replies you have received and think I will go check facebook out. I hope you and your long lost friend make a new connection and become "friends" again. I love hearing about these stories. I have not ever, via the internet, found a friend from long ago. But who knows, once I have checked facebook out, it might be a different story. If your friend does live near you, would you like to meet her again, in person?

I think you're so lucky, you know I have a lot of friends that I have lost their message for so many years until now. And I miss them often. Anyway I wish them happy. Also wish you a good day today!

I think facebook is the best site for meeting new friends and finding old ones. I have several that I have not heard from in over 30 years...Its so exciting to reunite with them and see current pictures...Also when I joined facebook , i also joined world friends where I have met many wonderful people all over the world. I have learned lots of new things. Its amazing how we can now talk to people on the other side of the world. But be carefull....facebook is very addictive!!!....lol... You can search for old friends my name, also through classmates.com and by school names ..there are ,many different ways. Good luck and have fun with it!

Thats what myspace and facebook are for.. connecting with people you otherwise would never talk to. I found a friend that I hadn't heard from since I was in 6th grade.. I no longer use facebook or myspace. Its more trouble than its worth, plus all those younger kids getting into tons of things they don't need to be on them.
