You can buy a core 2 duo processor computer.Do you need a cd rom.It better you buy a dvd writer. You can buy an intel motherboard. You can buy a 2 GB ddr 2 ram.You can buy a 250 or 320 GB hard disk.If you want music you can buy 2.1 channel sub woofer creative speakers. If you like to play games you can buy a 256 MB graphics card.

Vicky, you are so wrong with the 256MB graphics card. If the graphics card has 256MB DDR2 and 512MB DDR, which do you think it is better? The one with 512MB? You would be wrong then, the most important thing in graphics cards besides GPU is memory. The faster the memory is the better performance you'll get. Amount of graphics cad doesn't matter so much.DDR5DDR4DDR3DDR2DDR I hope you understand now! ;)

You are speaking about the main memory of the computer. The graphic card is a separate card in which you can play the latest games.

If you want something cheap but powerful, take the Intel C2D E6500, one of the Asus P5- series motherboard, I would suggest you Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB HDD, GeForce 8800GT or 8800GTS 512MB because they are way better than 9xxx series which was made only because of marketing. Take at leas 4GBs of Mushkin DDR2 RAM so you could do whatever you do without having to wait something to load. CD-ROM is up to you. This is a low cost PC and you won't be disappointed with it. But if you want, you can always take something stronger like Quad CPU, ATI Radeon 4870 or 4870X2, you can even consider i7 CPUs which are expensive now (so it is the DDR3 RAM) but they price will drop soon.

First of all you have to ask yourself...DO i want a up to date pc or do I want a SUPER gaming pc? A gaming pc would cost you so much more, but I personaly would rather take the gaming pc as you can play super cool games. Buy a gigabyte mother as they are really good, corsair 2 gig ddr 2 800mhz, 250 gig hardrive, lcd screen (you can deside on the quality or hugeness) , get a 2.2ghz duel core processor, and then just buy any stock parts to complete the pc.
