Taking my baby girl to the vet, and this it doesn't look good.

I have to take my cat of 11 years, Goldie, to the vet, and it doesn't look good, she can barely shallow, she cannot yap like she usually does, and she did not even want to eat her Nutri-Cal (which is keeping her alive). She is a very rare breed of cat, a tortoiseshell Ragamuffin if you all can picture that. She is so cute, but it kills me to see her in the condition that she has been in for the last few years. It is making me very sad.

I hope your cat is alright now. I know cats do not live forever but we wish they would!

She is much better, it turned out to only be a sore throat.

I am sorry to hear your cat is sick. 11 years is a good life though for a cat. We just had a heartworm scare so I know how rough it can be. What did you find out at the vet?

I am not saying you don't take good care of her. She could just be old. Could have heartworms, there is no shot for that or intestinal parasites. What did the vet tell you?

My cat has had all of her shots, she is spayed, she has a hairball in her intestines once, she had some teeth pulled because some of them were no good for some odd reason... my mother and I make sure that she is very well taken care of. I give her Nutri-Cal to keep her healthy (Nutri-Cal is full of vitamins and minerals that keeps them healthy and their systems clear). I don't know what could be wrong with her.

Well I guess she lived a good long life already. I think 11 years is really that long for a cat's life. But of course you will feel bad losing her if that is the case. Any pet that had stayed that long is something worth missing for but if the cat cannot really support herself anymore it is better to let her go than suffer further.

She's okay, honestly, all she had was a sore throat. My mother and I believe it happened because of how much she has been hissing at our new kitten and because of how angry and jealous she gets. Female cats. Docile, yes. Jealous, always!

I'm so sorry to hear about your beloved pet. I think you just need to think positively about the situation, if you trust your vet, then I know everything will be okay..couple it with prayers though.

very poor of Goldie. how come she can be like that?maybe she become old? 11 years is not a short time. it's a long time for a cat.how old, cat may reach their maximum life/ maximum age?is it can until 17 years?or more? very long time ago i ever been had a cat. he's name is Bungy. he very cute and have very funny habits.he always come to the kitchen and open our cauldron with his mouth.my mum always put the food in cauldron after she cooks.he also always running to everywhere so fast and climb the tree for catching the birds.when his age finally 11 years old, he become thin and not greedy like ususally.he's become choosing the food we gave. he just smell it but not touch it.i try to give him some vitamines like B12 mixed with sugar water. the next day he become better. he like to eat again.now he's gone when we've been moving to new house.we don't know where he goes. maybe Bungy has no longer alive right now.i don't know.i miss u bungy..

as hard as this is going to be for you to read its equally hard for me to say it to you . maybe its time to put her to sleep . shes 11 yrs old , thats 77 in human years shes an old lady . if a member in your family were ill to the point where they were on life support for example , would you hesitate to turn it off if you knew that there was no way of them coming back to a functional life ? when animals want to die , they usually find a quiet spot and go there . they stop eating , they cease to function normal as we see normal anyway . they get to a point where like humans they dont want to stay .only difference they cant speak but you can see it if you watch them , they tell you . high breed animals have a short life usually , you can look up your breed and get estimates of life spans . animals are like children they are part of our family no one wants to let them go , sometimes you have to . the choice is yours , just dont let her suffer .when they cant eat, walk etc..theres your clue . good luck
