This is so Pathetic!

Lately I have been playing a game app on Myspace called Yoville. Some of you may have heard of it, but if not, Yoville is a virtual world. In this virtual world you create a cartoon character who represents you. Your cartoon character can do various things within the game to earn money (yoville coins and cash). That money is used to buy clothes for the cartoon character, buy stuff to decorate the virtual apartment where the virtual you lives, whatever. The thing to keep in mind here though, Yoville is a virtual world, a game. All money earned in the game of Yoville is fake money, not good for anything or anywhere, except within the Yoville world. (fake, virtual world) Now what baffles me is that there are actually quite a few people playing this game who try to scam other people out of their money. To be clear, I'm saying people playing Yoville, (fake, virtual world game), who try to cheat other players out of their fake, virtual world money! Uhhh....it's fake money! What is the point? How pathetic do you have to be? What are your thoughts on this?

LOL It doesn't surprise me...after all these games are modeled after the real world and there are idiots here as well. The stupidest thing I ever heard of was when ppl in Second Life (an online game) were using real money to buy things in the game. To be clear, they'd use say $100 of real United States money to buy a virtual painting to hang in their virtual house in the virtual game!! One woman I read about paid $60,000 in real money to buy a virtual island in the game!! HELLLOOOO????????? It's a game! It's not real, you can't touch it, feel it, live in it, or wear it...it's fake. Some ppl don't get it. I play EverQuest II and the only real money that I use in it is when I pay my monthly fee to play...and I feel bad enough over that. I used to play it but I gave up on it, because it takes to long to load on my computer and when it does load it crashes, but people need the money to decorate their apartment and buy stuff, and it's hard to get money with that stupid factory job, so they will try to get money other ways, by tricking people into doing trades then keeping the money and not giving what the person paid for, it's wrong but it's the easiest way to get money.

Actually, to be honest, I don't see where it's hard to get a lot of money for decorating your house or whatever in that game fast without cheating. First of all, once you have 50 or more crew members, which is easy to get just by adding people whom post in the "add me" topic on the forum, you get 350 coins every time you go "work" at the factory. Given that you can go "work" at the factory ever 6 hrs. that's 3 times a day, which adds up to 1050 coins a day from the factory alone. Then you get another 400 coins just from visiting 20 people on your friends list which brings your total to 1450 a day. Now consider that you can make another 200 coins a day playing games and it's not hard to max out doing that either since there are lots of "ttt, x always wins" parties that you can participate in, that brings the grand total of coins that you can earn everyday to 1650. In one week that's 11,550! Aside from that, I know people do it to get money for decorating their homes faster and such goals in the game, but my point is, it's just a game! people take it way to seriously! LOL!

I have not heard of this game, but I appreciate the warning that it is out there and apparently very addictive! I must say I have never heard of an online game having a sort of underground mafia going around slealing money. Especially if it isn't real! WHat do they gain from this increadably waste of their time? I guess it's better that they are doing that, rather than here on MyLot...

Hi.I had a brief play on Yoville a few months back. I found it hilarious that people were being scammed out of their fake money and getting very upset over it too. I do agree with you that there are some very pathetic people out there that would scam people out of their fake money. I played on Yoville for a few nights but found it very annoying and that music that played throughout it really got on my nerves. Have a great day and happy myLotting.
