I'm watching my moms dog's - rosie and Murray while they are on holiday. Rosie's great she's a girl...Murray however is driving me WACKO. Hes a boy...i put them out they both pee out there. They're both house trained but Murray keeps lifting his leg and peeing on everything. He peed on my dvd case, my laptop bag my lunch bag (good thing it was empty) the corner of my laundry hamper. Its not that he hasn't been here before...he lived here with me for a year while rosie was recovering from her last litter of pups (nearly killed her) and getting spayed. He never used to do this. My mom says hes been doing this at home too so its not just me. Either way it drives me nuts. Any ideas why...how to stop it (other than blocking them all off into the teeny area by the door) Its too cold to leave them outside too long they're indoor dogs and its -25c out today according to my temp gauge. Have you had a dog that does this?

I have two dogs, and max my yorkshire terrier cross, sometimes pees on everything, I reckon its because they want to mark whats theres with their scent, and thats exactly what they do by peeing on everything, so maybe thats what your dog is doing, its completely normal for dogs to do that. Its simply marking their territory, but i do agree its horrible when you have to clear it up and when you see it, my dog does get told off for peeing on things, like we just put his nose to it and say ''what have you done'' and he knows hes done wrong after because he lowers his head and things.

sounds like he's trying to be the alpha dog and mark his territory. especially if he peeing on stuff that belongs to you

I love watching that lady dog trainer on TV, I think she is wonderful and on one of her shows she was helping with a dog that peed inside and she made then completely wash everything in the house to take the smell of the pee out of the house, so maybe you have to get rid of previous peeing areas and reward when he pees in the right place..

i think its something my mom will have to deal with if she wants to let him be indoors...here i washed everthing...either laundered it or scrubbed things down this afternoon the second he was in the house he lifed his leg on my FRIDGE. I've taken to refering to him as captain peepeehead and im looking forward to when my mom comes home and will take him back. Love him to bits otherwise. I've been keeping them locked in my kitchen and off my carpets and out of my bedroom (id hate to have him pee on my bed!)

My Gran's dog used to pee on EVERYTHING when he was a puppy, but he isn't so bad now. Seriously, her house used to smell of dog pee real bad. She just had to keep taking him into the yard right after he peed so he would assoiate peeing with going to the yard, and would eventually go out himself. It was a good tactic, and it worked really well!

He used to be fine in the house...hes about 6 now recently been to the vet and been checked so no health issues....i wish it was just because he was a pup and didnt know better but its not. I scrubbed everything down and he did it again right after he peed on my tires, my deck, the doghouse, a tree and post outside i brought him back in with the girls thinking he was all peed out and as soon as he was in he lifted his leg on my fridge. i actually SCREAMED in frustration poor guy went and hid in a corner.

Is he fixed? Sometimes they pee to mark territory. Or some pee out of nervousness. My guess would be territorial peeing, unless he has a medical condition that's making him go more often...
