Hello rubypatson, it is interesting that ladies fingers come under different names and people even love them or hate them. The English call them okra and in Greece they are called Bamyess. The Greeks cook them up in a side dish with olive oil and tomatoes, in England they were mainly used in a bindi baji curry which I loved. Most people seem to object to the slimey texture.
