french fries

I have a difficult time getting my family to eat healthy. Every time I offer steamed veggies, or broiled fish/chicken I get disgusted responses of "yukky". Everyone prefers things like pizza and french fries everyday. How healthy is it to have french fries every day? and how do you get family members to try a variety of foods? If there are not french fries on the table, the whining goes on all day and night.

I always had the same problem! I have 2 boys that are grown now but they always hated vegetables. I finally got them to eat oven baked french fries, I would cut the potatoes in wedges, spray them Pam and then put seasoned salt on them, or sometimes parmesan cheese. I also would sneak veggies in stuff, like grated carrots in spaghetti sauce. Good luck, I know what your going through!

Good ideas. Do they ever discover the grated carrots?

I too had the same problem and used to cook seperate meals for my kids but not anymore. I finally told them that they will eat what we eat or will do without. Sure they complained and whined for a few days but decided to try new things. If they keep getting the things they want they will never change. Hope this helps and good luck!!!

Yes, this is the response I would like to work on. It seems like the most functional thing to do. One meal and if you don't like something...make a sandwich. The hardest part though will be listening to the whining.
