exuses not to work

I was just sitting here waiting to go to work and I thought about all the excuses I used to come up with years ago not to go to work or leave early. The worse one I ever came up with was "I had my girlfriend call work and say she was the secretary of a construction company and my boyfriend fell of the roof and he was at the hospital" a few fake tears and I got to go home. I felt a little bad afterward but me and my girlfriend had fun that day. Have you ever come up with a crazy excuse to get out of work?

I have no such ideas,do not go to work.I am very professional job .Although occasionally I would not want to go to work ,but have not done so.I can only happen when the real work will not.

You must be very committed to your job, nothing wrong with that.

When I have a doctor's appointment, I am glad to get out of work. I am sore and not feeling well today so I took off to get better. Heck if I have somewhere more important to be at, I will do it, but I also know I have to keep my job to pay the bills.

Of course you can't abuse it or we will loose our jobs. I've been good for quite some years now.

That's funny and somehow convincing. I don't really skip work lately especially that I'm now having more responsibilities in the office than before. But I remember way back I lied just to skip a day working. I said my family member got really sick and that I was the only person who'll be able to take care of him.

hahaha!!! you're naughty!! I never have done that when I was working. I don't want to be caught up.. what if your co-worker would have seen you with your girl friend and he knows your reason of being absent? your credibility will be lost in an instant. No body will respect you anymore and they would think you are lying all the time even if you are already telling the truth they will no longer believe you. And besides, you can not hide the sins forever, it will eventually come out without your knowing. That is why I am afraid to cheat because it will come right back to me. I don't like it.

It's not as bad as you make it sound and it's not like we do it all the time.

There have been a few times when I have had the same thing, I even used the excuse of Brakston hicks when I was prego just so that I would get to take the same day off as my husband. He works very strange shifts and hours so it is hard for us to have time off at the same time. That was one of the excuses that I used to play hooky. I guess everyone does it at one point or another,LOL.

oh ya...when I was younger I had all sorts of excuses to miss work. I used...don't have a shovel so I 'm snowed in ...I even called in for a hangover. My boss had much patience but little sympathy when it came to this sort of stuff. On the snow day...he showed up at my apt with a plow truck and got me out...then offered to stop so I could buy a shovel on my way to work while making it clear that this was not a good excuse. I lived across town in the city...not out in the sticks. When I called in with the hang=over...he was a bit pist. He let it slide but next day took me aside and informed me that if I ever, ever called in with an excuse like that again that he would fire me. Not saying that stopped me from making excuses to call in...I just got more creative with it. I would go to work and have my mom call me and say my daughter was sick...things like that. I now work at a job that i can't really do that without skrewing myself over as we have no benefits or without skrewing over a co-worker by making her cover for me.

Hi Missy! What you did is not restricted to any individual or a nation but is a universal phenomenon. This is because life is essentially an emancipated component and hence wants its freedom back as we keep it within a tight schedule. The result is that we do not feel like going to the work and rest or do something rather. We can not define it an escape from your duty and commitment either. A natural stream of the self willing to get out of your framed LIFE. Even me too feel the same quite often and if it is not so important I do bunk thereby losing one day of Casual Leaves. Or else Life would become a programmed robot and we are not machine. Nice topic to philosophize.

That is so true, if you don't change things every once in a while it gets boring and tiring.
