65 historians ranked former presidents on various leadership qualities.Abraham Lincoln ranked highest, as he did in similar survey done in 2000. James Buchanan, who watched as nation lurched toward civil war, came in last.George W. Bush ranks 36th among the 42 former presidents. I don't know where I would put Bush in that ranking. I did hear about the list, but I had not looked at it before now.

and just to think he was the president with out a high school deploma.
