My dog was up barking and howling all night long

My dog kept me up all night last night. Barking, howling, and it even sounded like he was trying to speak English lol. I would get up every hour and take him out then he would do it again, again all night long... I am so tired right now I can barely see the computer screen. He never did anything like this before. I think its because we left the windows open and there's a dog in heat in our neighborhood. Has your dog ever kept you up all night?

It was just so bizare for him. Hes such a good dog and sleep through the night and wakes when we get up. Glad your girl never woke you up! lol

lol i am so sorry to hear that your dog kept you awake all night long last night like that. how horrible of him to do that. maybe you can grab yourself a nap this afternoon to make up for some lost sleep from last night. but to answer your question about has Doughnut ever kept me awake all night like that before? nope cannot say that she has. but she has awoken me before wanting to go outside and then i will let her out and stay up until that she wants to come back in. grrr. at least that she wakes me up like that when that she has to go outside during the night time like that.

I wish I had my yard fenced in like that. Would of been alot easier to let him out then wait for him to come back in. I had to take him for walks in the middle of the night.

no I never have, but you just taught your dog that anytime he barks he will be allowed out, that is not a good thing because you may have many more sleepless nights because of it.

THANKFULLY NEVER!
I would kill (not really) my dogs if they kept me up all night if my husband hadn't done it first.
Both of my dogs have stomach problems and everyonce in awhle they will wake me to say they need to go potty but they never keep me up all night and its on very very rarely.

my dogs have been driving me nuts
they bark in shifts
the old male barks all day
and the young girl barks all night
I go out there several times and look but there is nothing out there
they are just barking to hear themselves bark I think
