I joined myLot over three months ago because a friend told me that this site will bring some additional cash at the same time enjoy the perks of an interactive discussion online. Then, a myLotter left me a message that I have a knack in writing and why not boost it to the next level. So, she introduced me to Helium. I registered with helium, with just a little idea what it is all about, then, with more encouragements, I finally wrote my first article. It was an essay about writing. I was surprised to see it ranked number 1 on the first three maybe four days, then it dropped to two, then stayed at three. For a newbie like me being in that position, I was really really happy about it! Maybe I can call myself a writer after all. So, I kept writing. I was running out of ideas what to write about, thinking that they might not be interesting... I looked back to myLot and the discussions I started there. Found one! It was this discussion about a smelly office mate and what to do about him that inspired me to write a particular topic. After I posted it on Helium, I was having second thoughts whether it would be even in the upper 50%. Thank goodness, they appreciated it and it was-- is ranked two now. I got two writing stars! Do you have this same experience of getting ideas from mylot too? my article on helium is here on this link http://www.helium.com/items/1345752-office-etiquette-others-in-the-workplace

Great for you, I hope that you get to write more good stuff. There is nothing better for a work well done but for it to be appreciated by others as well. It means that you are doing the right things and you are happy with what you do and that is to write.

I agree. The achievement as a writer is for someone to appreciate his work. These stars are a proof of that appreciation. Thank you for your thoughts!

I know that he loves me a lot but his teeth are also in tact Zorlone!I had already stated in my discussion topic[I posted one inviting friends to read this particular article ]that it was my writer's liberty for an 'aesthetic lie'.

Looks like we both found out about helium the same way. Maybe almost the same way. I have a friend who introduced me to myLot, then, that same friend told me about helium. While I was making discussions, there was a myLotter who encouraged me to actively write on helium. so, that's that. I actually responded to a discussion last night about having a hard time logging in on helium. It was a global phenomenon. That myLotter who posted the discussion is joy118. Last entry in my friend's list. Right now am looking at your helium page. your post there is about a recipe of sticky rice dumplings. :) let's keep on writing! unlike yourself, my profession is not related to literature. Thanks for dropping my lot. PS. you can see my helium account through my blogsite link on my myLot home page. hope to hear form you soon!

Thanks! I won't be to worried if I don't get a star, it just means I have to keep on writing and improve on my style. :) I hope you keep writing too! Nah, am just average, in helium standards. A lot of gifted people write interesting topics and are very good with what they do. I still have a long way to go in writing. Drop by myLot again!
