Hey guys! Did you guys didn't notice that when someone from other countries most especially the Korean celebs who went here in the Philippines to shoot movies, commercials, variety shows, etc. haven't shown in our local TV news just to give us some details. There are movies, commercials that shows Philippines scenery, landmarks, etc...which makes us proud of because with the help of this commercials, movie shoots, people will discover how beautiful sceneries does Philippines have. I don't even know why the local TV News (ABS-CBN & GMA-7) didn't know about it or maybe the Koreans ordered not to televise it. I'm not sure though... Anyways, there are korean boybands, artists, hosts, models who visited already here in the Philippines. Just like TVXQ, Eugene Kim, JunJin, Shinhwa, MC Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, etc.

Hello pinkista! It's sad to hear that. I don't think that abs - cbn or gma doesn't know about it. But maybe like what you said, Koreans didn't allow them to announce it. We should've been aware about it though. I am very much happy to know that they choose to shoot here in the Philippines.

Romantic Island - Korean movie shoot in the Philippines, Boracay.
Hi aisaellis22, we have the rights to know about it...anyways, thanks to computer & internet. Without these things, we didn't know about this stuff. They have been in Boracay to shoot a movie, "Romantic Island" main cast is Kim Eugene..:] I can't wait to see the movie, try to watch the preview, you can see the jeepneys, the Luneta Park, tricycles, etc.. Haha!

They didn't air it on TV (or had a part of it on news) because k-pop isn't that well known that time when they went here. Like TVXQ.

This reminds me of a movie shoot done in our place many, many years ago. It wasn't much talked about but since our school was just near the location of the shooting, we were only few of the people who were there to watch. Funny, the crew wanted us to be part of the "extras" but we never had guts. For days, my friends and I were blaming each other for not appearing in that shoot. It was an internation film but I didn't know the title.LOL

I think that television crews are by invitation basically, they either have to ask and be granted permission or they have to be invited. I'm not sure if this is right for everywhere, but I think that it is a general rule.

Hmm I don't follow Korean showbiz so I don't really know what you're talking about. But I think when celebrities visit the country those are generally televised locally. It's okay actually if the scenes shot in the Philippines aren't shown in ABSCBN or in GMA as long as it is televised in foreign countries. That's what will bring in more tourism to our country. :)

I don't know some of them are making films here in the Philippines with our beautiful sceneries. But although, I'm fun of lots of Koreanovela that are popular in Asia, they have a wide variety of good stories that presents their very own customs and traditions as Asians.

I do not think that local TV news has the right to intervene or nose around those doing shooting here by foreign film makers. The local government units are the ones responsible to know that they are shooting some scenes because from what I know they should get some permit to shoot in certain places. But as far as local TV stations are concerned they cannot just nose around and know what they are doing unless the owners of these companies allow them to know about it. But what I know is the government should know about it and they should ask permission from the government to have their filming here in our country.
