Class Reunions

Have you ever gone back to your High School for a class reunion? What did you think of the old class mates? What was "The Most Popular" up to? Are the "King & Queen" still the K & Q? I went to mine a while back and was just looking at some of the pictures we all got from it. It was great to see some old friends, and I do mean old, it was our 35th reunion. Wow! How we have grown old. Many of the men I did not recognize and neither did my girl friends from back then. I must admit that after a few drinks we started to take our cocktail napkins and draw hair on them. Then we lifted them into the air in front of a guy that was bald, standing in the distance. This way we thought we could figure out who he was if he had hair. They had no clue what we were doing and it was a load of fun and we even managed to figure out who a couple of the guys were. I am sure that many of the guys were trying to figure out who we were too by picturing us with less weight or our natural color of hair. It just seemed way more fun than walking by them or to them to see their name tag. It surprised me the geek is not a geek, the most popular guy is bald, the queen is over weight and list goes on. The kid that got stuffed in the locker is all "buffed" or was until the muscles shrink with age. People change over the years but all in all we had a blast from the past and hopefully will see each other in another 5 years. Many we will now keep in contact because we found our friends again.

Hi, I have never been to one of these but think it is a great idea that my child's primary school here has already given us the date for them all to attend when they are 18, it may be a long way off but each year the date gets transferred from diary to diary and the children all know now that they are expected to attend when they are 18 and they can look forward to seeing their favourite teachers again.

Hi Thea, I have never heard if a school doing that in advance. That is a pretty cool idea and maybe even gives the children something to look forward to as well as make them proud of what they are accomplishing now and will look back on in the future. It is fun and a little scary to go back in time and see all your old class mates. Thanks for your response and maybe see you back here in 18 years. LOL

Last month I went to my school reunion. And I was feeling very unhappy. Most of my friends were absent. And those who were present, lost the charm. One of my class mate was the heartthrob of the guys. Now she has lost her beauty for ailment. I, myself became fatty but she changed completely. Other friends were talking only on their husband and child as if without husband and child nothing is in their life. I asked one about her aim and present condition. Very disappointing situation.

Hi Sona, It seems that less people come to the reunions any more. I guess it is just best to put it behind. We all change through life, some good some bad. I do agree with you, many were talking about family but maybe that is all they have to talk about. May were just bragging too o how much money they have and how they got it. Some have to do that to prove success to others. Me, I just went to see some old friends, relax and have fun. Thanks for responding and enjoy your day.

I went to a class reunion and was disappointed to find that my classmates never really grew up at all. I guess a tiger cannot lose its stripes. I would have liked it better if they gained a little more sense with the time that has passed. Cheers!!

Hi Underdogtoo, I know what you mean many did not change mush at all. I am not sure if they just digressed when they showed up or if they are like that now. It was fun to visit some of the past and the past friends we made along the way. Thanks for your response and have a great day.

Hi, in all honesty I have never been to one although they have came up from time to time. I had kind of a hard time at school, picked on a bit, nothing major but enough to taint the memories. I am a lot more confident now than I used to be, love my family and enjoy my life generally. When I left school I only really liked 2 people and I gave them my number and stay in touch with them. Same reason I don't go on things like friends reunited and stuff like that - look to the future and leave the past in the past. Good question though. Happy mylotting.

Hi Ianlockley, I was never really popular in school and only had a few friends too. But e had lost touch over the years and we finally got back together. We had a nice reunion a few years back and I was glad that they showed up to this one as well. Now I know we will not lose each other again. Many people did change some stayed the same too, immature. It is always good to look towards our future though, I must agree. Thanks for your response and have a great day.
