Do you have a garden? I don't. I would really like to. I don't know where to begin. I have no idea how to make a garden, grow vegetables, or keep the garden tended. If you have a garden, why do you have one? Is it a hobby? Are you trying to save money?

I had a small one yesterday. My husband said I could have a bigger one this year and he will help me. The first thing you have to do is turn the dirt. Meaning you have dig off the grass on the top, than turn the soil over. Then if need be you may need to add some soil. Then you can plant seeds, or go to a gardening store, or hardwear store and puchase the vegetable plants that are already start. Some of them you can plant right in their packaging. Some you just gently pull out of the package with the dirt and and everything, and dig small holes and place the plant in the hole, and cover the roots and dirt with more dirt. Then make sure to keep it watered. If you have a lot of rabbits and such in your yard you may need to put up a small fence around the vegetables.

I have a nice size garden, or i will this spring..i usually have onions, potatoes, Squash, Zucchini, Cabbage, green peppers, banana peppers, hot peppers, Tomatoes, Green beans, corn, Mustard greens. I either freeze leftovers or can it. I also like home made salsa that i can, and i love fresh coleslaw from the cabbage. My herb garden is in the kitchen i have one of those areo gardens for that and it works great. I also have black berries, blueberrys, strawberries, and a apple tree, my neighbor has a pear tree. I also have 3 chestnut trees, and my neighbor has 4 black walnut trees, so we have a large variety of things in the neighbor hood, i usually put in enough green beans to trade to the neighbors, also the chestnuts. Some day i would like to put in a small green house, so i would like to have vegetables all winter. My garden is a hobby and it takes a lot of work to keep it weeded. I use organic seeds, and i water it with filtered water and i never use pesticides on my garden, i make up home made stuff to keep the bugs away.

So me and my aprents have a garden. Its in the back of the house. First thing you should do is keep your own seeds from vegetables you purchase and plant them. Do not just plant them in the soil or dirt in your back yard purchase soil from a store and also some pots to put them in. You must first start off like this and your garden will soon grow. You can purchase the packets at the store that have the seeds in them also we have done them too and they all work. He also buy some already planted plant in in those black pots at the hardware store but you must report them in more soil and a bigger pot because they will grow bigger. We have a garden because its something fun to do and to keep it grwoing is fun. You must water your plants in the garden once a day and not over drench them. If it rained that day and they got water than do not water them becasue to much water can kill the plant and you wont have that vegetable. We like seeing the plants grow and it does save you money because some vegetables can be pricy. Right now corn in my area is expensive and the price seems to keep going up so we decided to grow corn and see how that goes.
