The only time I will drop something on the floor then pick it up and eat it is at home, and only if I have just mopped, which is still dumb since I have dogs and who's to say they haven't just walked by that very spot after being outside walking through their potty spots. (now that I have painted a picture for myself I won't even be doing that anymore lol) If I'm cooking, and drop something before it's cooked, I wash it off and continue. At a restaurant, I won't even eat it if it falls off my plate onto the table, I've seen the rags they use and they will wipe-up everything with them. I've seen too many tables wiped down only to feel greasy after wards. I think what has happened to me is I get more eccentric about somethings as I age. Flies in the house use to didn't even bother me, they just go with the south. I've eat many a plate of chicken at my granny's house after a fly or two was swatted off the platter, not anymore. I cover everything. I really believe that ignorance can be bliss lol

yeah...you are right it would be foolish to pick some thing which has fallen outside our home ,like restaurants etc ,it also wouldn't look to begood manners also ,i hate flies ,some times i even ate road side foods on which flies were swarming like any thing ... it happens ,only our immune system has to save us.....happy mylotting

Well their is nothing like that if something falls on the floor it becomes dirty...We shudn't eat that but coz as for many people their immune system is so weak that they cant fight even a very small infection... As for a broader concept...One day we ourself will dissolve into the soil... Happy Mylotting!!!

yes it depends on the person's immune system .....some people are more sensitive and get infections easily....such people should be carefull and avoind taking even small risks ...but we should agree that older generation people are more strong in case of immunity....thanks for your response

well karubod its best not to consume the food that has fallen on the floor how ever clean it is.I too hat wasting food and if a lot of it has spilled to the floor its best to let your cat or dog to consume it.If you drop candy or any such thing on the floor,I guess its ok to wash it in running water immediately and eating it.

No I don't. If my food touches the floor, I give it to my dog. That way it doesn't get wasted. My dog gets to eat it. Anyway, have a good one.

Hi, I don't ever hesitate even. Because i also don't like to waste the food at all. The food can be wash and eat. I completely agree with you that women do such things compared to men. The reason they have to maintain their budget and they know the value of a single penny.

Well,my grandmother always does that, too.I think maybe the people who have gone through the starvation are afraid of the lack of food. And I really agree with you that women do such things more.
