wrecks in VWs or any other car. How did yours hold up?

My husband and I have only driven Volkswagens since 1996. Our first new car was a 96 Jetta that we loved. He then got a Corrado, then we had a kid and went for the more family friendly Passat. Soon after that my hubby got a new Beetle, we had a 97 Jetta for a very short time, a 95 Rabbit until I blew it up (ha ha) and now I drive an 08 Jetta and he has a 95 GTI. We are definately VW freaks. Have any of you ever wrecked a VW? My hubby totaled the Beetle showing off and I flipped the Passat just being stupid. I wish I had pictures to show you of the Beetle. He chopped down a tree with the driver's side door. He should of died, but all he got were a few broken ribs and an ankle fracture that required surgery. Not bad considering how the car looked. What about you? How have your cars held up in accidents? And by the way...the worst injury I got from flipping the Passat driving 70 mph on the interstate was a broken thumbnail. It took forever to heal and hurt really bad, but considering what could have been...it was a miracle. The side impact airbag was really what saved me because the car skidded for a long time on the driver's door. Had it not been for the airbag cushion, it would have been my face against the pavement.

I drove a 1970 VW Bug for 200,000 miles and it was a wonderful car! I had two wrecks, both people turning left in front of me and aside from some body work the car and myself were fine. My first car was a 1965 Oldsmobile and I got hit on the front right fender by a car going about 50 mph and all I got was a bump on the head. The fender looked awful for the 250,000 miles I drove it after that but it was a great car.
