Most of my American friends really love to eat this food. When we have social gatherings, this is the common food that they are going to prepare. My hubby love this too. Well, we are not used to eat this kind of food in the Philippines. The first time I eat this, am not sure what combination am going to have.. LOL.. I just observed them how they did theirs. I don't even mix mine hahaha...Well, anyway, as the days go by I learn to love this food and when I prepare this food at home now? my hubby always have seconds. Am just wondering why they love this? it's not that delicious for me? eheheh...How about you? do you love this food too? Just wondering why most of my friends love this food..

Forgive me my friend, but I am totally ignorant what that food is! This is even the first time I've heard that kind of food! Ha!ha!ha! Each country really has differences in many ways and hay stacks is a proof that Philippines differ from America. Look how you as a Filipino can't even find this food delicious when they seem to enjoy this a lot. I remember our Arab visitor whose face turned sour when I asked him to taste "suman"! Ha!ha!ha! Imagine I love homemade suman a lot. One time I was so delighted to see lots of suman on our table and found out that my grandmother arrived and brought these all the way from Pampanga. I brought some for the office staff that day. So the staff feasted on it during our break time. Our Arab visitor was watching us while we were enjoying the suman, so I gave him one and he tried. Then his face turned sour and would not know weather to swallow or spit out the bite of suman. Ha!ha!ha!

I realy miss that kind of food. yea, foods differ as with culture... my hubby don't eat suman.. he will just shrug his shoulders when I let him eat ahaha..Well, hay stacks is good when you will be used to it. it is composed of pinto beans, chips(the chips that we use for snacks there),salsa, cheese, tomatoes, onions and lettuce. let them get their own stacks.. then mix all this and eat.. yummy... for now.. but before? I did not find it good.. only these days.. you can try it my friend and enjoy!!!

My friend it sounds like I will love eating that hay stacks by the way you described it. It sounds like chips topped with salsa that we love eating here except for the addition of some more ingredients.

I was introduced to hay stacks at a church function. I'm assuming that your taking about the corn chips covered with lettuce, pinto beans, shredded cheese and olives, sour cream and salsa. It takes the place of tacos. I like this salad. It can be served over rice instead of the corn chips. I think people like it because it is filling and has all the food groups. Every one fixes the beans and combination different.

If its the sweet candy with coconuts I love them! They are so good! When I was a kid I would eat those and those elephant peanut things! Pure sugar! Ah to be a kid! Gunni bears are my favorite though.I hope we are talking about the same food! :)
