Ok...today is my shopping day and I am out of laundry detergent. I have always used a liquid but I have been noticing that power is a bit less expensive and with the ecomony as bad as it is I am thinking of how to save every penny. So what type do you use and why?

i have always used powder because i think too, that it is cheaper. i also use the store brand which is often as good as name brand types. i mean, my clothes doent get dirty. (my daughters are older, and hubby and i both work in offices) so rather than dirt, its mostly sweat that the laundry soap has to get rid of.

I too only have myself and my boyfriend in the house so stains and dirt aren't a huge problem usually. I just can't keep the poweder stuff to not stick on the cloths...I dont' get it. Maybe I am not waiting long enough to let enough water get in the machine first. Laundry is not my favorite thing to do so I tend to get impatient...LOL!

I use the liquid because I think it disolves better in water. I use All Free and Clear. I buy it at Sam's Club so it is a little cheaper by getting the largest container. I know I could get a cheaper liquid detergent, but I prefer the ones with no dyes and scents. People in our house have allergies and this seems best for us.

Well I too use liquid...at least in the past 5 years. I switched to the 2x power stuff but I may be using too much...LOL! I don't pay the best attention when I am doing it. I don't have to worry about allergies but I do worry about leaving marks on my cloths.

i use whatever brand i can find cheapest. i'm not even sure the name of what i have upstairs. it's a powder and it's good for 90 washes and i think it was around $5. i thought that was a pretty good deal so we went for it.

Thanks...you see I am using a liquid now and I seem to be going through it so fast...LOL! Maybe I am putting too much in...I have the 2x strength and maybe I am not paying close enough attention to how much I am using...LOL! I have tried powder before but seem to get white marks on my cloths...any suggestions on how to eliminate that?
