ARE U ROBBING GOD..without knowing it?

May God SMILE on YOU today! - We tend to forget that God smiles on us when we do the right thing, like tithing and offerings.

Tithes & Offerings.. I never thought I was robbing God by not giving regular tithes and offerings faithfully. And more often than not I didn't go to church so never thought I should tithe or offering if I didn't go. I wasn't very faithful paying my tithes to God until lately when I realized I was stealing from God and that is a serious matter."Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, "in what way have we robbed You?" In tithes and offerings, You are cursed with acurse, for you have robbed Me, even this wole nation! (Malachi3:8-9). We tend to forget that*God owns the earth* just like where you are living if you are renting..it is own by a landlord and you have to pay your rent to have the priviledge of housing. God not only owns the earth, but everything and everyone on it. He promises to provide our every need (Philippians4:19). God provides for His children, but some have*little faith* and do not trust Him (Matthew 6:30). He gave this admoiniton: " Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,* Says the Lord of hosts.*If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it* (Malachi 3:10) God is the Giver of every good and perfect gift, and He promises to abudnantly bless the tithe-payer. Those who have faithfully saved their Festival tithe know firsthand the joy God gives at His annual festivals. Examine your degree of faitfulness this past year with God's tithe. Have you stolen from God? Ask God for the ability to give. Trust and honor Him in your tithes and offerings. If you have been a thief? We forget that all the food we have on our table comes from God, the clothes we wear, actually everything we have..including the most precious of all..our life. Ever since I have began faithfully tithing and offering..even if I can't go to church..I send it by mail and I am so blessed. I want of nothing since I have quit being a thief. There are so many things we need to know to please God and studying our Bible is important. Don't we study a manual when we buy a appliance so we know how to make it work properly and trouble shoot if there is a problem. If we can't repair it we send it back to the Maker of the product.. Well more so we should study how to Please God so that us..the product of His love..know how to work properly and trouble shoot any problems we have and if we can't, then go to Him our Maker. With all that is going in our lives we tend to forget that if it wasn't for our Maker..we wouldn't be here. We forget that we must give to God as we do to any human for what we need..much moreso to God..don't you think. Well, I quit being a thief and very happy..

I never thought about it like that before. I know we are suppose to give 10% of our income as a tithe. I have been guilty of not giving when I'm at church and on the sundays when I don't go. I have not joined the church I attend yet so I don't have an envelope. You have just inspired me offically join and get and evelope so I can do better in this area. Thanks!!

yes it is important to tithe..I know I have been guilty of it because I haven't been to church in years. We should give anyway even if we don't go. I pay my mortgage..I should also pay God too.

ah ha..my son..glad you are thinking of it. Yes, 99% of the world doesn't know or don't think they are robbering God because no one teaches us or does just wishy washy. Everything is important..if I don't have a church envelope I take an ordinary one and mail it in. I'm glad that my discussion made you concious how important tithing to God is. go to www.tomorrowsworld.org if you want to find out about tithing.

You're not robbing God - you're just not supporting the Church. They're two very different things. Money means nothing to God: your actions and beliefs are far more important than some cash. If your local Church does good work, then supporting it by tithing is perfectly reasonable.

Well, I still disagree, but I think on this one we'll have to agree to think differently. I can't comment on the particular verses, since I don't own a Bible (no, I'm not Christian, but my father was a preacher so I have a rather solid foundation from my childhood and youth - and a lot of respect for Christianity, while I think of it!). From your comments, it sounds like you're somehwat more of a fundamentalist when it comes to religion. I am not: I don't (and never have) believed that the Bible is the absolute truth direct from God, since it was written by men, who are fallible. As in any religion, I believe the important thing is the message, not the specific words. If you're giving money to the Chruch so that they can do God's work, then I'm in total agreement with you. However, if the Church is misusing the funds (cf. TV evangelism's awful reputation), then the money's not going to God at all. It sounds like your church is a good'un, though! All I'm saying is to bear in mind that if you want the money from tithing to be your thanks to God, then it needs to go where His work is done, not blindly to an organisation that claims to be doing it. If you see what I mean. By the way, it's nice to be able to discuss something like this with someone who obviously knows their subject and replies with reason and feeling. All those angry discussions could learn a lot from your responses.

You are absolutely wrong my friend. Take your Bible out and read the the verses I wrote. If you remember reading,,if you ever read..Jesus had said to his diciples when the widow had put 3 pieces of gold..all that she had left ..Jesus said because she paid her tithe that she would never be without food on her table. Not true you are not robbing God..as when you give to the Church you are giving to God..the money permits the church to be able to survive and keep the church open so that they can teach the people what God wants from us. If the church is closed because the people have not been tithing to God then you are robbing God. It has nothing to do with the church doing good work..really..you never have studied the Bible otherwise you wouldn't talk the way you do. Prove to me where it is written in the bible what you are saying. Trust me you will not find it anywhere. Take a Bible out and go read about tithing. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Church but all to do with God. It isn't the church who is giving you the food on your table..it is God, therefore you give money to buy food at the grocery store..well the same for God, you have to pay Him for the priviledge of able to even go buy food as He is the supplyer..and as a supplyer gets paid for supplying..more so God.

so basically, we are supposed to give money for the priests to drive fancier cars and churches to get bigger(whatever happened to the vow of poverty)...and if we don't we are stealing from god??? I'm with this guy, I disagree. I don't think god cares about money and besides with the amount of money the church gets they should of gotten rid of hunger and poverty in the world many times over.I think the best way to pay god is to take care of "his property" by helping the environment and helping each other. Money is the creation of humans, money leads to greed, greed leads to crime and im sure that that was never god's intention and i don't think that he'll want anything to do with something that corrupted human kind so very badly.

Regular Bible reading and study is important to our well being. If we consistently apply ourselves to that and apply what we learn in our lives we will be at peace. The Bible has instructions for all aspects of our lives and if we apply this counsel we will not fail. Now I know that there are people who don't believe in the Bible and that is there right. But for me the Bible provides the instruction I need to live a moral and successful life. That's my opinion, everybody has there own.

Yet people will believe in books on angels, in astrology, in all kinds of things that are written by humans and don't believe in the Bible the God who made them. I'm guilty too of not reading the Bible..I think I will listen to my mother..she is always right..hehehe..even if it irritates me! She is right!
