Have you ever had to retrace your steps?

I mean to find something you lost? I took my wedding ring set off this morning. I was giving my son a bath. And I didn't want to accidentally scratch his skin. So after bathing diapering and dressing him, I went to put my rings back on. Surprise! They were not where I thought I left them. Took me a few minutes, but I did find them. I ran threw my timeline and that is how I found my rings. What did you lose? Where did you find it? Did this work for you?

My sister in law lost her wedding rings several times. I think there was a good stretch of time where her husband refused to buy her a new one, either. I guess I can hardly fault him. The money for a good wedding ring set is hard to come by. Especially these days.

This happens to me a few times a month..I need a new memory replacement surgery..lol usually like you I try to remember all that I did and retrace the steps that I took sometimes this works since sometimes I don't find it, but I usually end up finding it when I least expect when I give up and stop searching then there is it..

yes i have to do that once in awhile. i lost my glasses a couple of weeks ago and it took me a few minutes to find them. i had changed my shirt and took them off to do so and put them in an unusual spot.

I know i have done this plenty of times. I can't really remember specific items i do this with but one i have is my cell phone. I wear pj pants when i get home. Which they dont have pockets. So i tend to hold on to my phone while walking around the house. Sometimes i put it down somewhere and later try to find it. Yesterday it was on the counter. Last week was on the tv stand.

I have had to do this many times in my life..Retracing steps through stores looking for keys that were in my purse,(more than once!) But the funniest one was when I was young and I misplaced my first engagement ring. I was mortified ( when I should have been mortified with who I was marrying!) I searched everywhere, I had been up gardening and even searches through the dirt. I scowered the lawns everywhere and even used a metal detector I had rented. No such luck. My fiance did buy me another. Later that summer while harvesting carrots, Guess what I found embedded around and into the side of a carrot???...YUp, not one karat, but 15...one from the ground and 14 from the ring. This is a true story and one that would only happen once in a lifetime...Unfortunately for me, it should have been my hubby at the time buried underground and not the ring. I would have left him there..
