Stevie Wonder then and now

Do you like Stevie's older stuff or his recent songs better? Let me say first off that I am a huge fan and think he is one of the most prolific songwriters to ever come along but somehow his songs haven't been the same for me in the last decade or so. The stuff I like I feel is timeless but some of the things I have heard in recent years just don't have that same feel, you know what I mean? But then again, songwriting isn't what it used to be. I love songs like Don't You Worry Bout A Thing, If It's Magic, All in Love is Fair, If You Really Love Me, Knocks Me Off My Feet and Overjoyed. In the last decade or so I've only liked one or two songs and I can't even think of the names of them right now. I definitely like the classic stuff best.

I too lean toward the older stuff...got to see him in concert in 1972 where he kicked butt with a high energy show. He even led a "snakedance" around the stage during an encore. He's a real class act and helped inspire me to play harmonica through his music.

I, too, am a Stevie Wonder fan, but I my favorites are "Little Stevie Wonder" songs. I agree that his style has changed, not a bad thing, but the older songs are my picks.
