 I just don't have the time to put into Gather for it to really pay off. I spend time in myLot networking with you and the gals on writing stuff when we're not all furiously typing up our articles. My offline life limits how much time I can put into this stuff and Gather just is low on the priority list. I did a bunch of comments recently though and my number has not increased at all. |

 In all fairness to helium MommaJ just recently figured out how to make payout...
I have looked at my page view earnings at both and for the articles I posted at both helium is still better. You see the results of each and every view whereas with AC I am still trying to see that first $1.50
On helium, a hundred articles earning at least $0.01 per day is enough to get to payout each month. ... |

As far as the writing stars go this is where niche topics serve you well. If you are an expert in something or if you know enough about something that has competitive titles you can rise to the top at you won't have to worry about your writing stars. I finally brought my score back up with a carefully chosen competitve article and a couple leapfrogs.

I recently did a helium article on crochet patterns for snowflakes. I was so interested in the patterns I spent hours looking at the different sites with patterns. When I end up doing that for a craft I am interested or something I can use with my students the time I spend is like getting paid to look into something I want to know about or can sell twice.

 At leas they are taking some semlance of a stand. Here people are not supposed to smoke within 100 feet of the entrance to office buildings. Guess what? No one stops them. So that means that asthmatics, older people, children, those with allergies often have to pass through a cloud of smoke to enter an office building.
