I am a 30 years old man weighting 216 pounds, so I am very obese. I need to get down to 154 pounds at least. How can I do this healthily? I do not want to use pills. I reject acai berry or protein drinks, too. I can eat pretty much anything except meat. I do not have access to any gym equipment. Thus, exercise will have to be pretty basic. I can never stick to a diet. Help, Please?

I am of your age too and it can be frustrating sometime but you really should not think of it as a type of diet, but more of a change to the way you want to start living. Start living with more regular walks in your day. If you are busy during the day, perhaps you should do it after work, go for a walk, or if you have a dog which helps sometimes as they need a walk everyday to stay healthy too, it would be nice to take it with you to keep you company. I like going for walks when the weather permits it. I also don't go to the gym, just put on my running shoes and run on my treadmill at home with my ipod going. Today I did about 45 minutes. It was a bit of workout for me with the sweat but I know I have to keep going until I reach my goal, and also keep going but maybe with a slight adjustment even after to maintain that weight once I reach it. I know it is hard to eat meat, but your body needs protein, it helps you lose weight, there is plenty of protein in other sources as well, like bean, lentils, eggs etc. So try to eat a variety of things like that and also milk has protein and even nuts. But don't have too much nuts and drink the low fat milk, I like the taste of the organic milk and usually just drink it straight after a workout. It does fill me up too I find. You need your calcium from it too but that can be helped with green vegies too. They help you get lean also. I try to drink at least two glasses of green tea a day too. This helps with the weight loss and also is very healthy for you. If I were you I would throw away all the bad food and only put good food in the house, make sure if you are going to eat that you run to the good food in your fridge, don't think too much and just do what you need to do to stay on the right path. By just doing it you can save your mind some anxiety about the whole thing, I know how hard it can be and how much we talk to ourselves into the same things that only hold us back once again. We buy lots of eggs from an egg farm. So it is good to stock up and some items where you can and include them in your diet. It is important to have onions and garlic in the food you prepare to help keep your immune system strong too as this can slow down a bit with strenuous exercises. I heard drinking apple vinegar with some juice or hot water can help too. Doesn't hurt to try. There is plenty on the internet about it too. Just a tablespoon in once glass I think. Above all else be kind and gentle with yourself and know that you are human and may make mistakes so don't beat yourself up about it if that happens. Just pick up yourself up and dust yourself off and try again. It can get a bit much I understand when you have to remember so many things but take one step at a time. Your body does deserve the best food and you are in control of what you put into it. So give yourself the best of what you can find. God be with you and I hope you succeed.

Have you consulted your doctor on this? Not only can they give you advice, but they can perform tests to determine if there is a medical reason for your obesity or not. Obviously, if there is a medical reason then diets and exercise will do nothing to help.

I used the Michael Thurmond 6-week body makeover. Each person is different but I liked the program because it helped me change bad habits I had. As with anything, you will need to see your doctor before you do anything. I pray that God will give you the grace to help you find what is good for you and bring you to happiness and health. You can find out more by going to www.mybodymakeover.com My doctor and natural counselor both gave me really good added advice to use along with this program. I took the program into my doctor for approval/disapproval before I started it. He looked it over and we discussed the pros and cons and then tailored it to my needs.
