The American Diabetes Association, (I cannot yet include links) is a great place to start. It is where I went when we found out that my husband was diabetic.
As a comment, any excercise really does help to regulate the blood sugar.

We like to ride bicycles together. It gives us time together and excercise. We also bought a tread mill. most of the time it collects dust but when we use it we love it.

Well I had developed diabetes 8years back and i was quite overweight at that time. Though I am a doctor but didn't want to take medicines whole of my life so I took some Indian (Ayurvedic) remedies for a short time and started 'Yoga" regularly. I no longer , with the grace of God, have high blood glucose. I think ideal weight and Yoga combined with exercise can control diabetes to quite an extent and you know even medical books even recommend this now!

There are tons of websites out there with information. I actually compiled some of it on a CD at one time to give to someone who had it and ended up making a bunch of copies for other people I found out had it. I'll see if I can find it though any websites may have been taken down because it was several years ago.
