any of you have this problem when you sleep you can only sleep for short periods at a time or some days you have trouble getting to sleep i am one of those people or when i have been sleeping and i wake up i just go back to sleep and dont feel like getting up. some days when i drink to much caffeine i have a hard time getting to sleep and i would suppose alot of people deal with that. but i wonder why sometimes when i sleep why i constantly wake up after short periods of time and when i try going to sleep it takes a long time to find a comfortable sleeping position i am one of those people that needs air when i sleep even in the cold of winter i believe it soothes or relaxes me when i try to sleep anyone else have these issues? would appreciate any and all comments of this topic

Yes I have the same problems, I think a lot of people do. I have to move around and find a comfortable spot, and stick at least one foot out from under the covers. Being in the change of life, it is like a thermometer for keeping myself cool. I think sometimes we wake up because we just weren't tired enough, and other times, to use the bathroom. I have RLS (restless leg syndrome, which will wake me up at times). If I am having a real big issue with it and just can't get to sleep, I will use Tylenol PM, it just takes the edge off and lets you fall asleep, and it is not habit forming. Good luck with you sleeping.

When one is awake for hours, you definitely lose track of time. The Tylenol PM is not habit forming, but it does say not to take over a certain amount of days, cause you could have a condition that warrants seeing a doctor about it. Good Luck to you. Hugs MaryLynn

I have that kind of problem too. When something bothers me, or when I am stressed out it is so hard to get a goodnight sleep. So what I always do I take a warm bath or shower, because it makes me calm and drink herbal tea.

shower before bed never thought about that one sounds like a relaxing thing to do before you go to sleep but some of my problems could be stress related if i have to much on my mind could make it hard to sleep

I read that one of the factors why it is hard to fall asleep or get some sleep is when you are not relaxed. There are many ways to get relaxation, doing things that comfort you, and I found that warm bath soothes me.

I am constantly waking in the night. Sleep is rough to come by. But I have a 10 week old baby son. So I guess that is to be expected.

Yeah I have a hard time falling asleep at night and I usually wake up pretty early like around eight or nine each morning. It may not seem like it's that early too you but it's early to me because I usually don't go to bed until like around two to three o'clock in the morning. It only really bothers me though because I usually wake up really sore and wish that I could have gotten more sleep or at least a better sleep during the night.

yeah sometimes if i sleep for too long or lay in the bed too long sometimes i will get a stiff back dont know if this is a case of what position i am sleeping in the bed or just the fact that i layed in the bed too long i actually slept for a decent amount of time today not waking up as frequently as normal so for that i am glad.

i also have difficulty in sleeping. before i always wake up in the middle of the night and i cant get back to sleep so i just listen to music to help me relax and go back to sleep. my father also have a problem like that, and when he cant sleep, he drinks milk or tea.

a friend of mine have been in that situation too and her doctor said that is because of stress. Too much thinking and worrying is also a factor of getting a hard time to sleep.

yeah that is always strange to have to be sleeping in the daytime i try not to do it too much because when the sun is out it shines brightly in my window kind of makes for a good wakeup call though did not have that problem today as it rained all day long and was windy and dreary a good day to hide inside

I can not sleep only when I have so many worries. Or I overslept. But most of the times, I sleep well. Especially when I am so tired of the whole day's tasks.

i have a trouble sleeping because of anxiety feeling. I am helping myself to fight this. I am reading self help books and always want to think positive thoughts. But sometimes i am still awake 3 am and still trying to find the best sleeping position so i can sleep better. Its hard because my work productivity is affected, when i am in the office, i feel weak and sleepy so i depend my energy on caffeine. When i go home, i feel so tired but i cant sleep. I dont like this feeling anymore .

yeah i can understand that probably the caffeine doesnt help when it is time to sleep i hope you can figure out a way to sleep better if i get myself out of my normal sleeping i guess you could call it sleeping schedule then its hard to get to sleep at what would be considered normal sleeping hours i kind of did this to myself the other day slept in too long then cant sleep when i should be sleeping

I've been having trouble sleeping for the past two weeks. I think I'm blaming it on the weather. I work nights so I only get to sleep in the mornings. lately we've been experiencig hot humid weather and I wake up in the middle of the afternoon drenched with sweat and for some reason I can't go back to sleep anymore.. ugh. hot weather sucks.

I have a tendancy to get home from work, sleep for maybe a hour on the safe at say 9pm and then I'm awake for the rest of the night and often not sleeping at all and going straight to work. I then to respond to this have a night I goto sleep at 9pm and sleep right through. I guess im catching up on sleep.

Maybe if i have something must to be think, i will not sleep quickly. Even asleep, i will awaken past a short time. But the first sleep is very important for me, cause if only i awake up, i will hardly to sleep again. I found that when i feel very tired, i must sleep at once, so i will got a good sleep.

I find if I drink caffeine to late in the evening it will keep me from falling asleep, especially if I drink a vault or coffee, so I avoid these two drinks in the evening. Over stimulating the mind can also keep one awake and prevent them from falling asleep. Or even taking a late nap during the day can throw one's sleep pattern off.

Well ,some time ago,I did have the same problem with you .It was very difficult to fall asleep, even at late night.I could not explain why I was so excited at late night. Some told me that I might be suffering from some pressure which came from life, work or study. But I could not find the source of the pressure, because I had been happy all the time .Later ,I found that a way was really helpful to get rid of the problem. When I lay in bed ,I just relaxed myself ,and tried to recall some scene of my hometown, where there were all kinds of animals and plants.

i suppose it could be a problem of stress possibly trying to get to sleep i just wonder why it is that i dont stay asleep for long periods of time of course sometimes i guess you could wake up because you hear a noise or have a bad dream but i dont recall that happening recently

Thankfully, I have had no trouble at all falling asleep lately. I have been so busy that by the time my head hits the pillow, I am out. When I do have troubles though, it is usually because of too much stress, too much caffeine, and/or too much pain throughout my body. When it happens, I tend tp put a couple of pillows under my legs to help get my body in a better position, that seems to help.

yeah stress can be a real deterrent to a good nights sleep probably thinking too much about things that have gone wrong and things you can do nothing about i try to relax when i go to sleep but its not always easy

I had one of those nights last night - all up I must've only gotten about 30 minutes sleep the entire night and I feel completely shocking right now. The same kind of feeling I get from travelling internationally and not sleeping for 48 hours straight heh. I think my problem last night was mainly that I was worked up, frystrated and upset about various things.
