if for a week you will be deprived of either water or electricity, which can you do without? for me, i could survive without electricity for a week but not water. just the thought of not having something to drink or the bathe with is unbearable.

Very Good Question! I am like you, if I am deprived of electricity or water, I would like to be deprived of electricity, because I can make do without it and I can go for some other substitute options. However, it will be very difficult for me to survive without 'water'. Water is of utmost important to me and I cannot remain without water. Water can generate electricity however, electricity cannot generate water.......LOL!

"water can generate electricity, electricity cannot generate water" smart thought!!! looks like if the lack of electricity scenario extends for a long period of time, i would definitely get crazy but there you are wittingly thought right away to generate electricity out of water!!! nice one :)

Many thanks for your kind words. Yes, if we are required to spend few days without electricity, we will go nuts and crazy. May God saves us from those blues! dpk P.S. - You appear to me a very jovial and interesting person.

thanks :) actually three years ago, a fierce storm hit our country and certain places do not have electricity for two weeks to a month. in our place, we were lucky to have lost electricity for only a week. so i can say i was able to survive it.

I would say that I would probably be deprive with electricity but no water. In my hometown, the water suppy is not enough so there are times that we can't have water in a day. We still have to go to a waterfalls nearby to get clean water. It's very hard to have no water. I was not able to bath in a day and it's not a good feeling. I am glad it's ok now.

hi there. i saw from your profile we are from the same country. we filipinos love to take a bath because we live in a hot country. it's such an inconvenience not to have water.

I will do the same decision like you. Without electrical, you just need few candles to spend your night, and you still can finish your job on day. Without water, I don't have my drink for whole day and i will die for it.

Oh yes, the best thirst quencher is water (ice cold water for me).

Eventhough i love the internet more than taking a bath (lol!), i would rather skip using the internet for one week that skipping a bath especially now that the heat is scorching hot! That'll make me dehydrated too so i need to drink water from time to time. I need some water too to wash my butt. Lol!

I think the Pinoys are very concern with hygiene which is of course a good thing! I would still take a bath even when I am sick (lukewarm water though).

i would rather be deprived of electricity. in that way, we get to save energy and do not contribute to the greenhouse effect, global warming and ozone layer depletion. i remember the earthquake of july 1990 and there was no electricity for days and we had more time in our hands, i played with the kids in the neighborhood, no school, no assignments yipee LOL. and we badly need water for bathing and drinking =)

That's the Baguio earthquake right? My worst "no water no electricity" experience was the Bagyong Milenyo.

That's a hard choice to make as it seems regularly we lose one or the other and when it is without warning and you aren't prepared it is so frustrating. Last weeek we went without water for 24 hours though we still have drinking water from local spring taps but nothing coming through the taps in the house. The electric went off regularly last year for 2 hours every day with strikes and it's ok for lights with candles but you can't cook or heat, I think it depends on the time of year, in winter electric is more important.

that must be an inconvenience to regularly experience both. since you experience winter, it would really be important to have electricity for the heater. i the situation in your area improves.

I do not want to die of thirst with all the bulbs burning and the aircon running. I would rather sweat and live in dark with water.

Of course its water that I need at first cause I can survive without electricity. Water is one of our basic needs for daily life. But there are many people in villages even today that are surviving without eletricity so why can't we. Do animals use electricity? No!! cause its not from mother nature, it's artificial stuff made by human for their extra needs. And besides to generate electricity you need WATER!!!
