There is no need to resubmit a discussion. Many people go through the discussions with no responses, so it is quite feasible that your topic could receive a response a long time after it was first submitted, at which time it will appear at the top of the listing and be noticed again by a lot of members. Furthermore, I believe that it contravenes Mylot guidelines to duplicate a discussion.

If I get no response on my discussion I just figure it wasn't interesting enough,at least to the people who were online at the time.I don't bother to try it again.

I am not sure that there is any point in starting the same discussion again, because a lot of people go to "discussions with no response". Also I always try to go back through old discussions started by those on my friends list, and if you have one then sooner or later I will find it mystikel. LOL Actually, one of the problems is that there are so many discussions going on that some good ones do get missed in the general rush of things. This is unfortunately, particularly when you see discussions about 'tell me your age' or something equally banal getting a large number of responses.

So far I haven't. Seems kind of pointless reposting a thread no one was interested in in the first place.
