Manny Ramirez has been offered $42 million from the FLorida Marlins and refused it recently as he said 'his family would starve'. poor guy and yet he expects people (that work hard every day and some who have even lost their jobs) come out and support him!

What a jerk! It's people like him who ruin the game. It used to be that as a fan, you had the sense that the players were playing because they loved the game, not for the money. Now the game is full of greedy jerks who take all the fun out of it.
Does Ramirez realize how many families could be supported by that $42 million? Obviously not, he wants more. Such a shame that these kinds of people are out there.

When people make that kind of money they don't know what HUNGER IS! And frankly should be glad to be offered such a sum when I'm sure attendance in the upcomming season will of dropped wich means less fans in the stands wich means less revenue for the team to pay these outragious salaries.

HIS FAMILY WOULD STARVE? I would like to ask him what the he11 they eat! People like this just make me sick. I would like to see him actually have a nine to five and know what it is like to starve.

As long as there is professional sports people will support their favorite players! No matter what they make or want to make! That goes with attending games at stadiums and areas to see athletics play! No matter how much tickets and other stuff cost people will go! I can't see salaries,especially in baseball, going down any time soon! Alot of players are greedy and selfish! Ramirez is probaly the same way but I aslo think he wants a long term deal, like 3 or more years, I'm not saying it is right but that is way it is! With me I tend to follow players who aren't high profile and are greedy and selfish!

I never even heard of this jumped up twit until I saw your discussion so I went and looked him up. Sorry to call him such a name but I can't think of anything else to call him when there are people losing their jobs by the 100s every day all over the world and he's turning down over $40 million and making stupid comments about starving, yeah right, what a dufus! I hope his fans drop him like a hot brick!
