How long is cooked chicken good for?

I was wondering how long people keep chicken in the refrigerator after it has already been cooked. We always have some leftovers when I cook chicken but I never know how long it's still good for. I was going to make a casserole with the chicken but it was cooked last week.

I usually don't keep things for more than a week no matter what it is. It seems the longer it is in the fridge the more dry it gets, plus who knows what is starting to grow on it!

That's true. You never know what might be growing in there.

if it's been a few days it's probably still good. i don't like to keep things a real long time. i'll usually just stick it in the freezer till i get ready to use it. hope it's good.

I don't normally keep cooked chicken more than like 3 days. If I have not used it up by then I normally pitch it just to be on the safe side.

I am not quite sure myself but wanted to say that I think the first responder was correct in saying a week would be sufficient, but two weeks wouldn't be wise. I am not sure if this is true, but I can only assume that the way you cook it might also be relevant to whether or not it stays fresh longer.

Since I eat chicken almost every night, there are never any leftovers in the fridge... LOL. I think about a week is the most time I would leave it in the fridge, it should be fine. Two weeks is definitely a no-no.
