I've heard of monsters under the bed, but dogs?

My darling little dog is at it again. He's an adult, but he keeps coming up with strange ideas. He hasn't been under the bed since he was a 3 months old. He doesn't fit. Now he's figured out how to get under again. The problem is, he can't get back out!!! He waits till the middle of the night, then there's whining and bumping under the bed, and there he is. Having hissy fits about being trapped under the bed. But the next night, he does the same darn thing! And the next night... Sigh. What does your dog do, that is really very silly but they are determined to do it anyway? Share your goofy dog stories!

my dog dances when she is getting a treat. if its a bone or cheese, she just does this circle thing on her hind legs, but if its meet, then she goes nuts doing her circle dance and licking her lips and jumping. she is the funniest little thing when she does that!!

Mine are lazy and they sleep during the day. At night they want to play and be loud and bark at each other! I think I was up past midnight last night because they wouldn't quite. They are puppys though. One is 9 weeks and the other is 15 weeks. Are they like babies and get their nights and days mixed up? will they grow out of it and be normal and play during the day instead of night? you seem to know a lot about dogs so I thought I would ask.

They're very much like babies. You have to make them be quiet at night. Or they'll force you to their hours. I'd keep them up all day. Then they'll sleep better at night. But it will take time. And patience. Lots and lots of patience... They are like kids in that respect. They love to test their boundaries. (Just to see how much patience you actually have. Sigh.)

I guess your dog is determined to find a way back out from under the bed, however much practice it takes, my friend. It doesn't help that you get woken by him having hissy fits though. lol. I don't have a dog so I can't share any stories with you, unfortunately, but I do like reading about the antics of yours! Brightest Blessings.

Awwww bless... they certainly are fun sometimes. He sounds a little bit like Gabs' Gissi in a way. He has his little bed under Gabs' bed and he hates flea treatments. Maybe it's a trait in smaller dogs, do you think? I know Gissi can be really amusing!

Thanks! I do love my dog. he's more trouble than any other dog I've ever had, or heard about, but I love him more than anything else too. He suits me. It's amazing how little time I have to be depressed with that little brat here!

My dog hates it whenever any of us goes in the bath. When someone is taking a bath she sits by the tub and whines very sadly that we are cleaning ourselves... I don't really understand why she doesn't like us to be clean, but she really doesn't appreciate it. Another weird things she does is she puts a mouthful of food in her mouth and spits it all out onto the floor and leaves it. Then she finds it again and thinks she is lucky to have found food on the floor. Really silly.

When I used to have a dog, we let him sleep outside, only during the summer, but he kinda got lonely out there at times, so somehow he could open the Glass sliding doors that lead to the backyard, then he closed them back, and ran to my room and got under the blankets with me. It was kinda sweet, I miss him His name was Spike

You are lucky you get a dog, my parents dont want me to have pets. My only dog Spike was a Chocolate Labrador. He got huge when at 1 year.

When I clean my place, I will get all my boxes out. My dog will immediately crawl to the space, sit there and lay down with triumph. I used to have a bed that he could get under it, I placed boxes and containers to fill the space but he was able to find his way to squeeze through the gaps between. I admired his insistence. Or when I was back home after a trip, he must take his opportunity running to my empty luggage. He is so cute and lovely.

They are funny, aren't they? They have to check out everything that changes. Gotta keep ahead of us humans! They are great, so inquisitive but loving.

Of course. He needs to wait until you are sound asleep then complain and wake you up. Can you raise your bed a few inches so he can turn around and get out?

Unfortunately, no. Or lower it. It's just the right height. We have carpet around the bed, but none under it. So it's easier going under than getting out. I've blocked the sides, and that worked for a few months. Then he found out he could push the blocks aside. Smart little devil!

Could it be that he is under the bed because others have been under the bed? Our girl barks at make believe monsters outside the window just so we will come and look outside. Or maybe there really are monsters out there, can dogs see in to other dimensions ?

Brrrr!!! Now you're giving me chills!!! I figure it's cause he's always loved dens. I think there's a lot of fox in him. He digs constantly outside, looking for mice. Or just digging holes. Inside, he loves finding the hidden, dark places and sleeping there. He gets hot fast, and those places are cool. I also think he loves causing trouble. He has such a gift for it!

Yeah, he keeps threatening to take the dog out and shoot him. He just loves saying it cause I make faces at him. Even better, when he threatens it, the dog starts grumbling at him and runs to me talking a blue streak. I swear he understands what hubs is saying! Hubs thinks so too, that's why he teases us so much. Those two love to aggravate each other. Sigh. Just like I love to tease his dog, who gets quite vocal with me as well. Dogs and men!

I never really wanted a dog, cause we have to work all the time. But now, I don't know how I'd live without my Snowy. He's my companion. (My hubby gets jealous sometimes)

We have an Eskimo Spitz that we got at 7 weeks. His bed was in an old milk crate. Now he is almost 9 months old, but he still wants to sleep in the milk crate, but only his butt fits, so he backs into the crate and then lays there looking totally uncomfotable. He is so cute though.

That's so funny!! Poor guy, I feel for him. Have you taken a picture of him doing it? That would make a good addition to the dog album!

My stupid mother has been slipping the dog so much food that whenever we eat infront of him he paws at us or the table, as if he's expecting something from us. It's annoying, but cute.

Mine does that while I'm at the computer. He lets me know when I've spent too much time on it, like after one minute!! For some reason, they've never begged food at the table. My Snowy always wants to be by my side, but he just lays there while I'm eating. No begging.

I've never had any other dog do this. Just this one. I think he likes dens, and it's nice an cool under there. It's hot everywhere else in the house.
