I purchased a Linksys and have been pleased with it. The only thing I found was my notebook card was not working well. Once I went into the Linksys site and downloaded another driver for the card, everything worked well. My card was a little older, so that may be the reason the original driver did not work right. Their on line support was also very thorough. I like to go into the Best Buy website and look up products because there is most generally a customer review or two or three on each product. If I read enough reviews, I begin to get a better understanding of what I might prefer. You can also do this at amazon.com. If you are shopping in a larger metropolitan area. Take a look at the sales papers. I found that one store had a sale on Linksys and we bought the Linksys at that store. When we got home the box had been opened and the power cord was missing. We took it back and got our money back. They did not have another system on the shelf. We then went to other stores looking for the same Linksys. We finally found one and talked to the store manager and showed our purchase slip from the other return. They considered that and gave us the sale price because we could prove that that product was on sale and for what price. You may also be able to use a sale flier as evidence of a sale and ask another store if they will match that sale price. Don't think the sale is necessarily just limited to the store running the sale. All I am saying is look around for the best bargain if you can.

I have used both brands of router. I've DLink wired router and as of today, I am using Linksys wireless router. Both works fine with me but sadly, I cannot tell which one is better with wireless because I have no chance of using DLink wireless. I think both brands are great, you just consider the price...

Look for the are of coverage of signal produced by wireless routers .Some wireless routers having two antennas are capable of producing signal even for 50 meters and above.Iam getting the signal from by neighbouring company which is not encripted and distanced about 80 meters to my company. They are using DLINk wireless router.

You have probably bought it now, but as my Linksys router was horrible I just have to get it out of my system: stupid, stupid, stupid router! I have another one now, it works much better. Maybe something was wrong with the first one.

I've never used Linksys before but I like D-Link Router. It's easily to configure and network is pretty stable even when there's multiple users online at the same time.

It depends what devices you want to use it for. If you're only using a computer to go online then either will do you fine and you won't notice much of a difference. If you want to connect gaming consoles or PDA's or other devices online, then the Linksys will be more compatible across a wider range of devices.
