Exploding banners

It's bad enough to have banners that flash, make noise and just plain annoy the heck out of you. What I really hate are those banners that explode and take over what ever page you are looking at. They are designed to cover whatever you are reading or doing, and they usually last for several seconds before they finally display a 'close' option (usually in teeny-tiny print in one of the corners). I don't know about anyone else, but you couldn't pay me to patronize any company or product that uses this type of advertising. As far as I'm concerned, these companies are treating viewers as though they are stupid, and that nothing we are doing online is more important that whatever they are trying to sell. Am I the only one who feels this way?

me either. i hate it to. i wouldnt buy from them. they are like salesmen sometimes in the real world that try to force you and push any way they can to make a sale. its what i call a hard sell person.

When I encounter a clothing store that has sales clerks following you around to 'help' and 'offer suggestions', I walk right out the door.
