Watching TV after school

Oh yeah as soon as they get home they say my shows on. They watch the nickaloden channel and the disney channel. I have to tell them homework comes first then you can watch the TV. They get mad but it has to be done.

Yeah I remember when I was in school I use to watch tv all the time when I get home from school since a lot of my favorite shows were on during the day since I loved watching cartoons. And why would I do homework after a long day I needed a break from work so I watched tv before doing homework.

My son would like to walk in the door, toss his book bag off to the side and plop down on the couch, but it does not happen that way around here. He gets to use the bathroom and get a snack and then it is homework time. He looses his concentration the later it gets, so if he does not do his homework right away then it is a nightmare later.

my sons are grown w/families of their own. they did use to watch tv when they were young. i think kids a little time to themselves after being in school all day.

My kids will do their chorce and homework first before watching tv. If I let them watch tv when they first get home from school then they don't do anything the rest of the night. For some reason if we let them get by with watching tv right away then they think that they don't have to do homework or chorce that day. So I will have them do that and then they can watch tv or go play outside whatever they want to do.

I would have my kids do their homework first. If it's nice out, let them play. Watching TV is a waste of time, I think.

I don't have kids but my neice lives upstairs with her parents and that is the first thing she does comes down stairs to ask me if she can watch cartoons.

My youngest likes to play outside when the weather permits when she gets home but my oldest grabs the phone and heads straight for her room. I usually give them a couple of hours before we have homework time.
