Hi. I live in New Brunswick, Canada and now that it is March there is lots of snow here. This afternoon it was snowing, but it has warmed up a bit and it nor freezing rain. The wierd part of it is that there is also thunder and lightening. Last winter I think we also has thunder and lightening. Why is this happening in the winter? Does anyone know why it is happening in the winter and have you ever experienced thunder and lightening in the winter? Nadine

I am in NE in USA and we often have snow with thunderstorms in early spring... are supposed to have that happen this evening as a matter of fact!! Very weird. Do not see how the two both happen at once! :-)

We live in Oregon and my husband said that happened when they were out hunting several years ago. Of course they were under a tall tree to keep sheltered from the snow. They all jumped and of course mover away from the trees. That could ruin your whole day for sure.

I don't know why it happens but I do know that it is not unusual for it to do this. I have experienced thunder and lightening in the winter. I find it fascinating.
