Learning Mozart's K545

Who else has attempted this piece? For a long time I loved Beethoven's Fur Elise. So finally, I decided to learn it. It has too many notes on the page for my eyes to read that quickly (don't try to tell me I can learn that part, because I actually have a visual disability, but it's okay). Well, I succeeded because I finally memorized the piece. Yay! Now I am happy to finally be able to play it. But there is another song that I really enjoy... Mozart's K545! With Fur Elise, I went one hand at a time at first, then put it together, and then perfected it partially by ear. I can only somewhat play bits and pieces of K545 by ear, so I will try to stay away from the ear method on this one! But I'm hoping the putting it together slowly method will work. Definitely a much longer song but I have a feeling I can do this. So if you can play this song, how did you learn it?

Mozart and I have had a love -hate relationship. I want to wish yo luck. You can do it! Learning something by ear isn't cheating. In fact it is harder thaan just reading the notes. Whichever way you do it, I Know you will learn this piece.

Thanks! So far I've gotten to figuring out the fingerings of the first half page. Which seems like a major accomplishment until I see all the little kids on YouTube who play this song like nothing. But then again, I guess technically little kids have way more free time and so they are probably sitting there practicing more than I am.

I have respect for anyone that can play by ear. I can't and I have been playing since I was 5. So if you can read music and play by ear time and patience you will be able to do it.

Thanks! Now I just need to get back to practicing piano and then I should be able to learn this song. I ended up being too busy with work and learning to run this summer to memorize this piece. But after the marathon I should have free time again.
