Last month I started a discussion about an abnormality that showed up on my most recent mammogram. I was told that it was probably benign and they suggested I come back for more pictures in 6 months to see if there were any changes. I wasn't real happy with that decision so I went to the Breast Center here in town. They specialize in this, it's what they're here for. My appointment was on Wednesday and after looking at my previous films and a few other things considered, they suggested I have a biopsy. Since they had an openning that day, I did it all in the same day. I recieved my results yesterday and everything is benign. I sorta feel like a fool for doing all this now and finding it was nothing, but I'm very glad that I do know now and don't have to worry about it for another 5 months. One thing that had a big impact on this whole ordeal was the fact that the mammograms are now digital, they get a much better, clearer picture. The calcifications I have could very well have been there for YEARS, but with the poor technology before, they just didn't show up. They are making great strides in early detection now and it is wonderful what they are able to do. Most of this is made possible by the donations that the research foundations recieve every year. Take it seriously folks, the pennies you give today may save you tomorrow. If you'd like to make a donation, you can visit my profile for a link to the 3-Day Walk site.

I am so glad to hear your good news. I don't blame you at all for getting it checked out further now instead of having to wait. Now you head can be cleared from that one worry and you can breath again. I am so happy for you.

Don't you dare feel like a fool for wanting to know now if you have something to worry about. Now you don't have to worry for six months ifthee is something to worry about. You did te right thing. I would have done the same thing. Now you can relax and carry on with all you need to do without worries.

I would have gone bonkers if I had had to wait to find out if there were changes... Then wondering if it was going to be a change the next time... Nah, I am so relieved to know that it's nothing! I just wish there was an easier way to tell - but time will come when there is :)

Never feel like a fool for being concerned about your health. I am glad that you went for a second opinion. "Probably" just doesnt cut it. You did the right thing. I am so glad that it turned out okay. :-)

Thank you! Yeah, that word "probably" was not sitting right with me at all. They might as well have said it's brobably cancerous... I'm so glad that it's all ok though :)

I am glad to hear that you are cancer free. That had to be a huge relief. You shouln't feel foolish at all for going through all that you did, you did the right thing. If it had been cancer, you would be glad that you went when you did!!

Yes, I think Friday night was one of the best night's sleep I'd had in a month! I am so glad that the technology is advancing in this area. One day there will be a cure!
