About half a year ago my old desktop broke down, and I decided to buy a laptop instead of a new desktop, and I definately don't regret that. I love my laptop, it is a lot more convenient for me to have a laptop, because I can use it everywhere - in the living room, in the kitchen, in the bedroom.... Most of all I use my laptop to surf the internet, but sometimes I also use it to edit my pictures. I probably wouldn't have bought a laptop if my desktop was still working, but I am very happy to have one and it has become very useful for me.

I prefer laptop because it's portable, save space and save energy. I use laptop for my work while I use desktop pc for other thing like playing games.

I currently Own aboth a desktop and a laptop PC and I must say that I have used my laptop for a total of about two hours from the time I bought it (6 months ago) to now. I prefer desktop pc's as I am a gamer and hardware enthusiast. Over the past 3 years I have upgraded my desktop at least four times and add fans/ mods such as fluorescent cable looms, 140mm drive by fan mod. Which reminds me of a more important reason to choose desktop over laptop.. cooling. thanks

Definately a laptop. Besides being portable todays laptops are getting more powerful and can almost do what a desktop can. I don't like the idea of sitting at a desk especially at home when I can at least be with my family if I have to need to get online.

It all depends on your lifestyle. If you're a person on the go, then get a laptop. But if you're a gamer, and a person on the go, make sure you buy a laptop with more than 2GB of RAM (random access memory) top that with a Radeon graphics card, the latest version. If you're a business person with a practical lifestyle, then get one with lots of memory on your hardrive because you would want to store lots of files and pictures on there without having your computer lagg. A desktop has it's advantages too, if youre the stay at home kind of person. It's easier to install and unstall hardware from the CPU compared to a laptop. Example, if you want to upgrade your CD-rom, to one with a burner, blue-ray, DVD player, then it would be way easier to do compared to prying open a laptop and trying to put back it's components back together. A desktop is excellent for many entertainment purposes too, but it all depends on how you use it and the software it's got, plus how big your flat screen monitor is. The other disadvantages with a laptop is if someone randomly breaks off the monitor part... Now that would suck, plus a laptop can overheat faster than a desktop. And the battery life kinda sucks too, because I had mine new when I got it, it use to be able to charge about 2 hours of battery life, but now it's an hour since I left it in the adaptor way too long while I was gaming. NEVER GET THOSE 9inches one, they may look small and practical, but they aren't the greatest laptops. They lag quicker than a 600$ since there is barely enough memory on it. Anyways to sum up the topic, which ever would suit your lifestyle, get it. Oh yeah mac book air kind of sucks (the new one), because it does not have a disk drive, or any other components you can find off a Dell laptop except for a USB port, you have to buy the CD-rom thing seperately from it... O_O The only thing it's great for is party tricks (sticking it in an envelope, and bragging about everyone's laptop is chunkier than yours). As long as you can afford whatever you wanna buy go for it. But don't forget about it's flaws and advantages. :D

I would also prefer laptop computers because of the following reason... 1. It is handy 2. Easy to carry 3. Can be brought anywhere 4. Has wifi capabilities 5. Cool to have one 6. Makes you look smart for others 7. Can be charged anywhere(As long as theirs an outlet) 8. Has high speed capabilities with a large amount of hard disk 9. Makes your life easy in school or in work 10. Entertains you wherever you go 11. Can surf the net wherever you go(As long the area has wifi environment) Having a laptop is great that makes me wanna save money here in mylot to buy at least one so that I can use when I go to school. I don't care what kind a laptop it is as long as it has great speed and memory, it can be installed with great games like need for speed, was built in wifi connectivity(which all laptop's now a days have) and has a long battery life for to enjoy it even better.
