What is a prudent person?

I want to know what kind of person is prudent, can anyone give me a example or story to show this word 'prudent'?

A prudent person is one who can make wise decisions and judgements. This person looks at things from the perspective of what is practical. Someone who takes calculated risks.

In my mind, a prudent person must be a strong minded man with wise and self confident. He maybe lack of humor but good at work. He can do good job in his field and mark his experience,

I think that a prudent person can do better in the field which he/she participated in.He is confident and know more about his work .He have a logical mind.
