We are getting ready to take a trip and I'm so excited I could die. We are going to England and Scotland. When you go to a new place, what do you like the most--hanging out and resting in the hotel, hunkering down with a good book, sightseeing, looking for famous people in the area, trying new cuisine, seeing new places?

I think you are right about how it feels to travel. I feel the same way. It really brings some excitement and interest to one's life. And some great adventures seem to happen while on a trip. Travelling is relaxing and energizing at the same time.

I just love seeing new places , people watching and different cultures. I don't like wasting too much time in a hotel room - I would rather explore! xxx

Definitely true PearlGrace. It is great to have a nice hotel room so that we can have a rest in comfort when we need it! xxx

People watching in a foreign country is so much more interesting than watching people from your own country. The clothing, the hairstyles, everyone looks different. I do like resting in the hotel room from time to time to re-charge and head back out in to the streets.

I hope that you will have a lovely time visiting England and Scotland. I wonder how long your trip will be and if you have your itinerary sorted out yet. When I go on a trip I enjoy looking at the architecture as I explore the streets if I am in a city.I adore seeing stunning view points where I can take a photo. If I am on a tropical beach I love seeing the palm trees and the snorkeling delights me. When I go to the countryside or the mountains I enjoy seeing the flowers, plants, views and seeing some animals. What I enjoy about traveling most of all is the exploration that I do.

I appreciate your good wishes. We are hoping to visit Madama Toussaud's, one of the art museums, and the London Eye. I, too, love admiring architecture, so we are alike in that way. I take pictures also but half the time, I can't tell what I was trying to take a picture of, LOL!

I think mine is just observation. Observing how a new place is different from my own and what lies in the cultural difference. I think that's really interesting for me and I could actually sit in a cafe for all day and just watch people passing by me. Trying new food could be exciting too, I would eat till I can't take anything in no more *smiles*.

I, too, love to try various cuisines when I travel. And people-watching is a great way to pass the time and relax on a vacation. I usually try to mingle with the locals on some level, even it's just buying a small item or 2 from their shops.

Number one is trying new cuisine....two is seeing how the locals live..then sightseeing....I really enjoy trying out new foods...and even when I traveled with my kids I made them taste different foods from different places...that is so much fun!

I am with you on trying out new cuisine. England is like a "little Europe." There is food of every culture there, and it is delicious! I'm a little embarrassed to admit that we didn't try a traditional English meal as we were too busy eating Indian, Italian, Brazilian, Chinese, Thai, etc. I've even taken pictures of meals I was about to eat, they were so attractive, LOL!

I love to eat, so I will either ask or hunt around for places which offer delicious local cuisine. Next will be visiting the places of interest, and finding out about the local culture. And of course, souvenir shopping!

Isn't it great to sample the local cuisine? That is so interesting, I think. There's nothing like immersing yourself in local culture also. I usually can't hardly squeeze in all my souvenirs!

I always enjoy comparing what I have at home to how those things are in the place I go. Like restaurants, parks, and I usually buy several newspapers and magazines if I'm in another country. Even movie theaters! It's fun to have the magazines and newspapers and be able to look back with such vivid reminders. But I really enjoy listening to people around me and what they have to say.

It's a great idea to buy newspapers and bring them back home. It does make a nice souvenir of the trip, doesn't it? It's fascinating to take a look at another culture and to see how they live. It is fun to listen in to see what you can learn about the locals.

That sounds like an exciting trip, I'd be so excited too, I couldn't wait. When I go someplace I like going sightseeing, shopping around, eating at different places and trying new food. I also like to just hang out at the hotel and rest, especially if its been a long ride getting there. Well be sure and let us know how your trip went when you get back..can't wait to hear....Have a good day

I also enjoy shopping at new places and trying the cuisine. I have no idea about Scottish food so I plan on looking it up before we go. We're also going to London and the food there is to die for (Italian, Indian, Brazilian, Chinese, Thai, etc.). I am really pumped for the sightseeing for this trip, too.
