Ever locked your keys in the car?

I guess I was in a rush this morning and had my mind on other things. I got to work, was at work all day, then as usual, when I prepared to walk to my car, I dug through my purse... only to find that my keys weren't in it. A cold chill went through my blood. Um... where the F are my keys??? Well, you guessed it, they were in the ignition of my car. I went to the Salvation Army and bought a wire coat hanger for five cents. After fumbling with that for about 20 minutes, I called a tow truck. The guy gets out, slips a long metal rod in my door and POP, my door opens. $59 later, I was in my car and on my way home. This is the second time for me in about 8 months. I swore the last time it happened that I would never do it again. Have you ever done this?

I have locked my keys in the car, and my kids have, so many times that I have learned just how to manipulate a wire coat-hanger to open my door and be inside in about 5 minutes, sometimes less. Isn't that horrible? I actually have a wire hanger next to my desk so if I need it, I know exactly whee it is!

I have never locked my keys in my car actually. I'm always really careful about where I put my keys when I get out of the car. Usually, I do everything I need to do and then remove the keys from the ignition and hold the keys into my hand until I get the door shut. Then, I know I've got the keys and then I put them away so I can use them later. It's just easier on me.

I used to lock my keys in my car all the time. I even locked them in the car one time while the car was running. It started becoming rather annoying and expensive. I had to develop a routine for when I get out of the car to make sure I have my keys. I thought of getting one of those hide a key things but that made me very nervous. A spare key under my car that would be the first thing that a car thief looks for just my luck. A spare key in my purse wouldn't work either as I have locked that in the car with the keys before. Now I just do my routine and I haven't locked my keys in the car in a really long time but I have come close a couple of times. Happy Mylotting
