My trip to the vets...

Well today I took the puppers to the vet and got him his shots and his heartworm test so that I can get him his prevention treatment. Well we get there and the waiting room is totally full and there is a doberman bigger than my dog and a puppy dobberman that looks really cute and spaniel and 5 cats. I swear someone up there wanted comic relief today. So I get in the door and my puppers flips he want to play with everyone and everything he's barking, he's jumping, he's trying to get to all the animals and then he thinks if I can't get to the other animals why not their parents. Sigh I had to put him on such a short leash. Well finially we get into the room to wait for the vet and the puppers flips that the door get shut behind him. He tried to eat through the door.. He currently weighs 34.8lbs and the doctor called him a sissy because he doesn't like the snow, cold, or the rain. LOL!!! But he said that he is filling in nicely and that he's a beautiful dog. I'm happy that the dog is healthy and growing and I can't wait til he get a bit older and filled out more. So in order to make this a discussion How did you're last trip to the vets go?

LOL Poop puppers just wanted to play - but watch that eating the door thing - my brothers dog did that and his insurance company paid for and forced my brother to take the dog to a shrink! lol I don't go to the vets anymore as I am not fit and our cat just hates when she goes there so I leave it to the other half! lol Glad the doggy is doing well! xxx

yeah I don't think puppers likes being stuck in a room and waiting for the doctor. LOL!!! I can't wait til he gets a bit older then I'm going to stud him out to the reputable breeders in the area.

i dont "go" to the vet.. i live in a little farmy type town, and there is the luxury of a mobile vet. so she comes to me! i dont hafta try to corral and stuff them into a carrier.. drive there.. wait and try to keep them handled. its all very easy calm and relaxed. she shows up..does everything..and goes. and shes actually way way less in cost than goin in to the office

The last time I took Spunky to the vet it was because of a 'growth' under her left eye that was getting bigger by the day and scaring the hell out of me. We literally had to pressure the vet to see us on a certain day, because of the hubs work schedule. Being a docile dog, she didn't put up any fuss and happily jumped out of the backseat of the car, scraping her face a bit on the seat. We get into the vet's examine room, and WTH? The growth is gone! The vet looks at me like I'm some kind of hysterical mother and then tells me to go check the floor of the back of the car. And sure enough. There it is. The body of a soft tick filled with Spunky's blood. I slid it onto a piece of paper and took it into the vet. She examined it, then turned to Spunky and gently removed the 'pinchers' buried in her skin under her eye and sent us on home. Days later she called us and told us that we didn't need to worry about lime disease or anything else as the tick was not the kind that could have given her anything like that. I'm hesitant now to call the vet though! LOL

I am glad your trip went well my last trip didnt turn out so well I took my 18 year old dog in for a rabies shot according to the vet he is basically falling apart he is overweight, double inner ear infection, muscular atrophy on the right side of his face, bad arthritis, possible hypothyroidism, and a skin disorder several visits later he is still a mess he has had a good life and he is a happy dog so I wont be spending any more money to fix him

Hi bellaofchaos, Let me tell ya ! I had an appointment to get our little Graci the dog in the photo spayed this week . We would have done it sooner but we were saving up the money for it . Well wouldnt you know it Graci went into heat the day before her spay appointment . So for about 3 weeks now we are playing musical rooms with our dogs . We have a male that is beside himself trying to get to Graci. There is no way we want Graci pregnant so when one dog is outside the other is in the bedroom or in the garage or front room . We have to keep switching what dog goes where to keep them seperated at all times! It's a zoo! The male is nuts try to get a piece of Graci .. Argggh, Grrr . What a mess ! I wish our vet appointment would have went as planned , but it sure didn't lol
