Today would have been your 75th birthday and in one month you will have been gone 5 years. Wish you had taken better care of yourself. It was way too soon. Anyway, I'm thinking of you. Happy birthday Mom.

aw..My mom has been gone nearly five years as well, although, she didnt have such a life span as your mother, as she was 49 when she passed, but I'm sorry for your loss, and glad you are remembering her and still wishing her a happy birthday! =)

It's nice of you to think of her today. Will you visit her grave site? I try to visit my at least once a year of my loved ones who have passed. We all wish our loved ones would take better care of themselves unfortuantly they don't always listen til they are in the ER wondering what went wrong? *sigh* ((Hugs))

You may have to check out the legalities of burying the urn where you are though. My mom doesn't take care of herself either and hasn't in several years. The worst is that I"m an only child and I didn't know anyone who was in their 20's at the time who had to put their mom into a nursing home (still don't know anyone who has). But ya know my mom gave up on life when I was a teenager and her body finally is catching up to her manic depressive mindset.

actually I don't give a darn about the legalities, some things the government just shouldn't butt into...

My mother wasn't buried, she was cremated and her ashes were scattered over the ocean. My dad did keep a small urn with some ashes and eventually he wants to plant it in my yard under a tree (which we haven't planted yet) but right now there's nothing to go and visit. Mom is definitely a prime example of somebody who didn't take care of herself!

Happy birthday to your mother. I am sorry to hear of your loss but feel lucky you had her for so long. My mother was taken away when i was only 12. I hardly knew her at all. So, anyone has known their mom for a long time into adult hood is very lucky in my eyes. Think of all of the good memories you have of her. I try but it is so hard since iw as young. but i do remember some. She would tell me stories at bedtime. She would make them up. I loved that. She loved poems and loved to draw. She was very artistic, none of which I got. But my son Mikey inherited it. :)

No child should have a parent taken away that young just like no parent should ever have to lose a child. Yep, I was fortunate to have her as long as I did.

It's nice that you still acknowledge her birthday Dawn - Happy Birthday Dawn's mom! I still have my mom but she's been in a nursing home in the UK for the past 4 years following a serious stroke. I live in Asutralia and we are hoping to go over there for a visit this year before the inevitable; she will be 89 this April.

Hi dawnald, My mother passed when I was 22. She was only 42. In a few months she will be 78. She too was way too young, so I guess we have something in common. I particular missed her last year when I got married. Take care, and Happy Birthday to your Mom
