A. LOL! you're clever, gjabaigar! You gave me questions which I do not know and absolutely urge me to contact my Zamboangan girlfriend for what is the best answer to give you as my quality response. Matter of fact, myLot discussion guideline does not permit any member to plagiarize any recipe by doing copy and paste on making response UNLESS the link. B. AN ALTERNATIVE OF GIVING RECIPE So, she sincerely gave me this YouTube video link for; either for your both faves adobo ~ chicken or pork. Not much can give, only a small contribution as my answer to your questions. Hopes you're glad to watch these videos; 1. HOW TO COOK CHICKEN ADOBO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvTG4ySB2-s 2. For giving you this adobo recipe. I know you can handle this kind of dish. Try it. And make some variations. By the way my girlfriend is in Malaysia. Oh ^_^ Howdy ErrollLeVant! Have a taste of Filipino dish called Adobo. Basic mixture are vinegar, soy sauce and garlic. It is like beef stake. Adobo is tastier with chicken or pork or mixed.

"This classic adobo recipe is simple to make and famous with all who have tasted it. It has been modified to be a bit more saucy than traditional adobo, it is delicious served over rice." INGREDIENTS (Nutrition) * 2 tablespoons vegetable oil * 1 (3 pound) chicken, cut into pieces * 1 large onion, quartered and sliced * 2 tablespoons minced garlic * 1/3 cup white vinegar * 2/3 cup low sodium soy sauce * 1 tablespoon garlic powder * 1 tablespoon black pepper * 1 bay leaf DIRECTIONS 1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken pieces until golden brown on both sides, then remove. Stir in the onion and garlic; cook until they soften and brown, about 6 minutes. 2. Pour in vinegar and soy sauce, and season with garlic powder, black pepper, and bay leaf. Add the browned chicken, increase the heat to high, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the chicken is tender and cooked through, 35 to 40 minutes. happy cooking and eating!

For my own way of cooking adobo, its just simple-marinate the meat with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and seasoning ingredients like magic sarap. marinate it for 1hour then after that put in a frying pan and leave it for 15mins and after that try to see if the sauce is already disappear. mix it through ladle then wait until it become a golden brown in color. i don't need to put oil because the meat hat its own oil.

Maraming salamat kababayan online_jon!.... and thank you to your Father also. Anyway is magic ginisa mix is the secret recipe.... lol.... Is it necessary for adobo? Where is your province online_jon? Do you do your Adobo accordingly to your locale recipe? They said adobo recipe varies accordingly to different provinces in the Philippines. Some are dried. Some are "masabaw". and some are sweet or spicy.

I also love adobo and I prefer a combination of chicken and pork adobo. When cooking this chicken pork adobo, I put first the pork before I add the chicken since the latter can be cooked faster. I also marinate the pork and chicken with lemon (kalamansi) before cooking them. .. I haven't tried using liver spread but I guess that would give your adobo a better taste. I just use liver spread when I cook caldereta.

Thank you dorisday1971 I don't know why the liver spread. My auntie from Bulacan who is a very good cook put some liver spread in her Adobo. And you are right it's tastier.

I like adobo...it's my first recipe!(^_^) I don't know about liverspread that it's applicable with adobo, never tried that...I guess I have to know what it taste like. What I usually like is pork adobo. I want a lot of garlic in it and has a small amount of soy sauce but more of vinegar with whole black pepper and laurel leaves to taste real good...yum!

Hello gjabaigar! I have read the discussions and everybody has already shared you the basics so i'll just add something. I don't know if you like it but i put some sweet chili sauce to my pork chicken adobo when it's already cooked then just let it simmer for a few minutes more.

the only difference i know when it comes to the best tasting adobo dish i tasted is the use of pineapple juice, fatty pork fried than returned to the sauce of the adobo.

I like both putting them together is the best..My recipe for that is pork and chicken, garlic, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar brown then add water. If you cook it don't put too much fire so that it will not cook faster and the ingredients will absorb it.yummy.. I remember eating it during our party in the beach I almost it 6 or more pieces of it because ii is too tasty.

Hi I love Pork or Chicken Adobo. What I do I put a lot of garlic laurel with it. Put some vinegar and soy sauce on it, well it depends really on my tast, I also put black pepper (paminta). I sautee the pork or the chicken then I put it all together. I f it's already cooked I put some potatoes and hard boiled egg with it. That is how I cook my Adobo. Have a nice day to you!

I agree to what you said that Adobo is favored by most Filipinos. And for me, this is the recipe i boast to my hubby. Although i will not repeat the ingredients and how to do it like most Mylotters have answered your query, i will just ask you anyway if you have tried something else aside from Chicken or Pork Adobo. For me, we don't eat Pork. We do Chicken adobo a lot and from this, we also cook Adobong Kangkong, Adobong Sitaw, Adobong Okra. And they tastes so good too for me. On meat adobo's we try to add some pineapple, sometimes we do add quail eggs or chicken eggs to it . But when we cook adobo on veggies, nope, we will never add pineapple into it. Just plain as the original recipe. But more on garlic because it will smell so good. You will know if someone is cooking Adobo because of the garlic scent that spreads through the kitchen.

I've never heard of adobo, but I found a recipe and it looks delicious! I think I'm going to bookmark the site I found it on. It looks like they have very detailed and easy-to-follow recipes! I'd love to make this for some of my friends, but one doesn't eat meat and the other is allergic to onions. The recipe I found is here: http://visualrecipes.com/recipe-details/recipe_id/260/Chicken-Adobo---Filipino-Dish/
