what will the cop do, if you were caught driving without taking your license?

Yesterday, I was caught by cop on the road, unfortunately, i left my driving license at home. if according to the law, I should be punished by penelty, also my car be hold for 1 or 2 days. but maybe the policeman have a good mood, or maybe he trusted me i just forget my driving license by chance, this guy said "go home, fetch and show me your licence, and you can go". Then I take a taxi home for license, costing me 250RMB. BTW, I am from China, Have you ever meet this situation? and what did the cop do to you?

if youre close to your home in the Netherlands they bring you to there so you caqn show it and otherways they track your name and see if you have a license , and if thats true you will have to pay something (not very much )

In Indiana, you have 30 days to produce the license. You can be fined but then must present the appropriate paperwork and your license to the county courthouse. Fortunately, I've never been in this situation, but I know some who have been.

Here in Canada we have 48 hours to show our license.
