http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-b1_2teacher.6819374mar17,0,5722331.story One of the teachers, a music teacher, from our local middle school, was arrested. We are sick!! I can imagine how the kids and parents feel about this. More and more I fear my daughter sending my granddaughter to school and understand why so many are turning to home schooling. Teachers, clergy, etc., are no longer people that can be looked up to and trusted because so many have broken their trust to those who they should be serving. Anger is not a good enough word for how I am feeling.

I have had issues with trusting authority and role model figures for quite some time now nanajanet! I have fought with myself continously as to who it is I should teach my children to trust. I think it is close to no one. I knew of some police corruption several years ago in a small town that put that bug in my head and it has nevr left. How do I tell my lost child to seek out a person whi may do her harm? But who else do I tell her to seek? I know there are good policeman too..just as there are good teachers but how at first sight do we determine these? How do we teach our children to? It's a terrible situation and home schooling is definately an alternative. The problem is that they will be exposed to these corruptions just as we have been. It's sad.

I guess all we can do is teach them that if it feels bad, run! We have to let kids know that just because someone has authority, it does not automatically make them good and if they feel like there is something wrong or uncomfortable, then go with the feeling.

It happens here more than you think. Maybe more there, per capita, but people are evil or good, no matter what country.
