My view is that BJP should lose in the upcoming General election in India. I think so because BJP is involving in unhealthy politics. BJP has been trying to gain votes by polarising religious communities. Looking at the political scenario, wherever BJP comes to power or is sharing power, Karnataka, Gujarat, Orissa etc there is lot of communal clashes. My view is that political party that tries to come into power by causing bloodshed should not be voted to power. What do you think of BJP politics? Which alternative political party would you then choose to support?

I think BJP will not get more than 110+ seats this time. They seem to have run out of issues and allies. The reason for this fact is BJP's politics of dividing communities and destroying harmony... the politics of hate. No matter how hard they try to deny this, that's the ground reality and slowly but surely most Indians have recognized this fact. The main fight now is between the Congress and the Marxist-led third front. I think UPA will get another stint in power, though they might get only around 250+ seats. They can easily fill in the numbers by drawing in a couple of regional parties.

I am not sure how many seats BJP will be able to win, but looking at history BJP does not have good record. Wherever BJP rules, there is bloodshed between different communities. Their supporters take power into their hand, and the minority communities are harassed and killed. By default, therefore, Congress seems to be the better option.

Yes... if they win they'll repreat. No reason why they should not repeat cos that's their agenda. Therefore, I think one should not vote for BJP.

Very true. Gujarat, Karnataka (Mangalore), Orrisa (Khandamal) are prime examples.

I can't really speak to the specifics of Indian politics, I'm an american and being that I don't know much about your system or the players in it, I would be remiss to try and comment. However, just from reading your post, it would seem your guys do pretty much the same thing ours do. Devide and conquer. They wave around issues and parties like a bull fighter waves a cape, to keep us, the bulls, from seeing the real problem, that problem being the politician himself.

I am happy that you could read at least that much from my post. I am also not sure about the politicians there in the US, but here we have bunch of them who divide people... and these bulls fight and bleed, and they do this again and again. However, our current Prime Minister is a real gentleman. He is clean and honest. I wish that he remains in power for one more term before he gets too old.
