Is it a question of time management? Too much clutter? A need for discipline? There are a lot of reasons why people have trouble getting organized and usually it is a combination of things. There are a number of things to help you get organized based on what your needs are. Perhaps you should consider talking to a life coach.

I would say it is a mix between lack of discipline and to much clutter for sure!

Well you will just have to conquer one thing at a time. What do you think is the priority at this time? Your closet? Your kitchen cupboards? Getting places on time?

It would help if I knew what you were trying to organize.Your house? Work? Your at home office? I don't know how much space you have or your budget. But shelves with bins help a lot.Designate a place for everything. If you are doing an office space, file drawers help as well as a cabinet with bin's in it.Good luck and please let me know what you are trying to organize.

Get shelf racks and put bins on them you can get them at Wal Mart,Target and some dollar stores.Make a bin for everything. There will be a place for everything. For example in the kitchen get a tray for silver ware, get a bin for large size cooking utensils (ie ladles, large spoons, pancake turners,etc.).Another bin for smaller things like vegetable peelers and so on.Get a bin for baking stuff(ie cookie cutters, sifters, spatcula, etc).Do the same for your bathroom, bedroom vanity stuff.Right now my daughter and I are in one room with a small kitchenette.I babysit my 2 year old grand daughter and need space for her stuff and we are surviving.Good luck.

Its not as big a problem you think it is chap! There are tousands like you, no doubt quite often, even i'm lke this. What i do is simply, pull out a scrap of paper from somewhere and quickly jot down the important things i need to do throuhout the day.I don't try to think i have to do it.I take it easy and calmly.Once my thoughts are on the paper, its easier to focuss my mind.So my friend, stop worrying so much. There's always a solution to any kinda prolem. As for this wee organising habit,it jus needs a little practice!!

My first suggestion is that do away with the things that you don't need or think you might need someday. Somethings are hard to part with and things on the attic that lingered there for years without being used should be either thrown or sold on ebay lol. You can make money out of that too. Clutter builds up when you just keep things that aren't absolutely necessary. Secondly start from one room and then start at one end and finish it off one by one. Don't try doing all at once or trying to be perfect right at the first time. Allot some time each day, maybe 15-30 minutes a day to organise things. Trust me you will accomplish a lot in a week by doing this. Keep a bin in every room and as soon as you are done with something put it into the bin for recycling or the garbage truck to carry it away. When take something out of its place, put it back from where you have taken it after you are done. Don't let clutter build up. What you do everyday matters! Little drops of water make a mighty ocean.

I think you are a perfectionist. You either want it perfect or nothing lol. Just let go, it isn't hard. Relax its not big. Its all in the mind. You can clear up the whole state's clutter if you want to. Enjoy the task. Take it like a game. Keep a chart that will remind you what to clean. Write in big words and when you finish doing something strike it out. And keep some reward and punishment program too. For eg., No mylotting until I clean up one of my ward robes. lol
