The only time we have.

It has been said many times before but I don't think it can be said too often, this is the only moment that counts, the only Moment that matters. Dwelling on anything else is pointless. Yesterday is gone, if not forgotten, and tomorrow is not yet here, so why waste precious time and energy focused on either? What is happening right now? That is the question, and what can we do right now to make it better? Make each moment better and the future will take care of itself, while the past will not matter. Think about it.

I think you should do your best all the time every day. To many time's I have see people say that they will do something tomorrow and then are not able to do it for one reason or another. So, then it never get's done or it's to late. So, I think you should do your best every day and always stop and smell the roses. You might not get another day to do it! **Peace and Love get's you through everything in Life**

I work on this all the time, but old habits are very hard to break. the past and the future continue to erupt in my mind. I do truly believe in NOW, but intellectually and practically are two different things.

Hi savypat, Thanks and you are right that old habits are hard to break, that's why we have to be constantly reminded of this. We were not raised to think this way but hopefully some of today's youth will be. Blessings.

Hi Pose123! That is very true my friend. Although I have never forgotten the past, I don't dwell on it any longer. I have learned that most of the time, the pain of the past is such a heavy burden to carry around in the present and in the future. I have forgiven the past and learned from it. I don't regret the past for I know I have become a better and stronger person because of it. I always see my present as new opportunities for me to do better in each aspect of my life. I know that my present is important that I always keep in mind to savor each moment and to seize the day! Each morning that I wake up is like looking forward to a new me where I can be hopeful to see new miracles in my life. I do admit that there are times that I worry about the future but it takes a short time for me to be hopeful and positive about it again. I know I will never know what the future holds for me and the people I love but one thing I am very definite about is in all my tomorrows, God will never abandon me whatever happens. Thank you for this beautiful discussion you shared. This is the first one I have read this morning. Starting my day with a positive thought like this will surely send me throughout the day with a smile. Thank you. Take care and blessings to you my friend! lovelots..faith

Of course the only time we have is the current moment. I think it is wrong to dwell on things in the past that we cannot change. I only like to think about the past when it comes to happy memories. However I disagree about thinking about the future. My Dad always tells me this saying "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst". I think there is nothing wrong in trying to anticipate the future as a way to be prepared for it.

A friend of my moms along time ago said, "I live like today is my last day & I live for God & Jesus Christ & I save my money like I am gonna live forever." This must be working for her for she is still alive & kicking & around 80 years old & have excellent health.

spend time with the people you love, do what you love most and let go of any angst and bitterness. Thats the only thing that matters. Dont live a life that is full of regrets. If you can do something now to show how much you love your friends and family, then do it now because as you said tomorrow is not promised. Better give all your best now than to forever dwell on "what-ifs".

You say just the right thing, at the right moment for me. This was so deep for me. The Bible tells us to give no thought for tomorrow, it will take care of itself. We have enough to deal with right here in the present. Keep sharing that Godly wisdom. Bless you, in Jesus name, amen.

God said in His word that we should not worry about anything but in everything, give thanks unto the Lord our God. He also reminded us not to worry about tomorrow; instead, let tomorrow worry about itself. In my own understanding, I think God is telling us not to put much effort thinking about the past nor about the future. He is absolutely telling us to think about now, for anything that we do now has great effect in our future....
